  • Hi,
I did my first RE assignment today and when I try and upload a receipt it asks me to

    To upload an image:
    • Click on browse
    • Click on the file/image you want to upload
    • Click 'Open'
    • Then continue to upload.
It might be me I cannot see anything that looks like "browse"
(I am using firefox if that makes a difference).

    Any clues ?

Strange. If I remember rightly it looks like the 'submit reply' buttons on here.
I use chrome, maybe just try a different browser?

    Thanks for the reply.

There is a grey bar next to "Receipt" but it is not a link.

There is a SUBMIT button but it then comes up with

    Please check

Maybe just email them to let them know, there should be a contact email in your assignment notes :)

I emailed to point out my questionnaire was missing a number 23 and 25

I applied for it thinking it was the bog standard 3 minute audit! Drat. Not impressed. Mind you, I am there to do a visit for Retail Maxim, i.e. same store, so it will be easy.

Are we expected to look for all 4 stands? The brief is not totally clear. Good luck this weekend.

The store I did recently only had 2 stands. Their briefing notes make the assignment look a lot harder than it actually is, don't they? When I did the purchase and audit a few months ago it took 15 mins before a staff member could assist me! Really not worth the fee on a purchase AND audit. As they say "live and learn".

Oh right I see. From reading the guide, it makes out you **HAVE** to assess all 4 kinds of stands. I already know the store I am doing only has 2 of the stands. I will give it my best shot.

What disappoints me is the number of new posters who come on here, don't read the vast amount of information that posters have spent a lot of time putting together and then expect the information to be spoon-fed to them! No-one is run out of town, but if you don't try and help yourself by reading the FAQs and using google then I am not going to waste my time with you.

We are always willing to help, and share tips but sometimes it is very obvious to us who is just here to make a quick buck and these people usually don't want to put the effort in.

Plus (no offense to stryder) we will generally not answer "who MSs x company" as firstly it's against our terms and conditions when we sign up to the companies and secondly it is a dog eat dog world out there! MSing is hard work and it takes dedication, ultimately we want and need to protect our own workload. Yes it's selfish, but if you work hard enough, get experience and use your head a little you can progress on your own.

The reason why I have not read all of the posts is that there is so many of them> Like with the Tesco threads, that I think are separated into three, I think this thread would benefit from separated into technical and conversation/community threads. I am sure there is a lot of good information, but there is also chat which is hard to get through (over 2000 messages I think) especially when you have just started. So its not a criticism but if people want a summary I don't think it deserves criticism. If you not wanting to repeat yourself, don't.
............... Have you ever wondered what
¦OO¬¬ O[]¦ Martin would look like
    ¦ _______ ¦ In a washing machine

  • And I think this 'in it for the big bucks vs wanting to be a good MSer' is interesting. I certainly didn't grow up thinking that this was what I was going to do, it was never on the plans, and who knows maybe next week it won't be. But here I am doing it for the bucks ( the bigger ones hopefully if I can get them) and as well as i can, because I want to get more work and because I really hate messing up. :rotfl:

Stryder - the summary you so clearly want is on the first few posts of every thread. You will not find such a concise amount of information on MSing anywhere else! No-one expects you to read all 18 threads, but if someone asks a question that we a know is clearly answered on the first page then we know that they haven't bothered to even half look themselves! These are the posters who will not get a very warm welcome from us, they are directed to read the first page. Ask us a question that isn't covered and doesn't involve us breaking our T&Cs and we will answer graciously!
