This thread is a great read but any newbies shouldn't be just run out of town for not understanding something. It's a free market folks and people are going to pick up jobs, trying to run them off this board doesn't help anyone and for me it's unfair.
As long as you have your jobs with the companies you work for, continually deliver good reports on time in full and do what you say when you say you will, you really have very little to worry about.
Of course this only applies to a few posters, the rest are a good bunch.
I made exactly the same point a while back, and think people sometimes forget it's an open forum. The detailed info given on the first couple of pages of the thread is bound to attract 'newbies', but as good as it is, it doesn't cover everything, so I don't understand why people get shot down for asking a question. Fair enough if it's something that clearly covered, such as asking for a list of companies, but if it's something else, for example a question about reports, I don't see the problem. Nobody HAS to reply, so why not just ignore the posts that irritate rather than make barbed comments?0 -
I am doing a pizza job tonight with RE. Looking at the notes you have to spend £10 and over and cannot use vouchers or codes. Can you still order a meal deal as was looking at there 1 2 free deal. Large pizza and 2 sides. Just wondered if this would be ok.
Thanks0 -
Do ESA offer extra incentives for tricky to shift jobs? I had a call about one today that I genuinely didn't want to and couldn't do and all I was offered was some mileage. Still maybe by call #6 things could change?
Never had any personally, I think others have previously said that they had a flat 'No' when they've tried to increase the fees.

Speaking of which just had my daily call from ESA James, I was getting worried!0 -

Definately can get an increased rate. Depends how Brass your neck is. Remember - you work for yourself not them. If you don't ask you don't get. And if you don't get a reasonable rate, don't do the job.0 -

Meal deals I think are fine but wait until they offer if it's a recorded call.0 -
The pizza job, I did this December and this month, got the 1 2 free deal both times no problem. Also worked out that you can do a custom topping with 2 toppings as your order which is the cheapest option. Like LP said you need to just order the pizza and let them offer the sides, which they do!0

Thanks, I know with gap it's expected that you ask but wondered what the ettiquette was with the rest!0 -

I've obviously never found them desparate enough, normally when I've called back someone has already taken the job0 -

I've had an increase before. However, its only been when they have been really desperate. And I always go for much more than just mileage and parking. Usually I plan ahead so do several visits in one place, so if I am visiting for one store it has to be worth my while. Have got them to do 3x the fee before (and I still turned that one down).

How would you describe a 'beard' which is like they had a goatie & then shaved but left the hair under their chin? Does this have a name?0
