Thanks PW - all in the slow cooker now so we shall see how it progresses :)
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice

Thanks again to misskool. DH and I have just thouroughly enjoyed the chinese duck noodle broth.

I forgot the beansprouts and sesame seeds but added five spice, garlic and soy sauce. It was great!

Can I use duck bones as well as my chicken bones as a base for soup. I just need a bit of reassurance that it will still taste OK.

    Thank you.

Ermm... short answer - probably :)

Longer answer - I've used all sorts of bones for stock and soup bases with no trouble but, I've just realised with some surprise, not duck ones! I can't see why there should be any problem with them though, which is why my answer was probably :)

Yes, it will taste lovely. It' won't taste the same as plain chicken or beef stock obviously but it will still be good.

I keep bones of all types in the freezer as and when they come available. Then every so often when I've got enough I make up a really big batch of stock in one go. The only thing I separate is the fish ones - all meat & poultry bones just go in together.

But then I like the unpredictability of it all! :D
