    HI all,

Sunnyday - our dog adores the soft biscuits in Aldi as well, I have to hide the bag because if it's in view she pesters all the time. DD calls them crack for dogs.

Speaking of DD we moved her things down to her new flat. Of course she suddenly doesn't need three quarters of the things she brought home last year so her bedroom is still stuffed.

I'm knitting a scarf with can can wool, which I thought I would give to someone for Christmas but I think I will keep it because I'm not happy with the first few rows until I got in the way of doing it. I'll do another one for a gift.

My cleaners usually come today but I rang to complain because I have found out that they were doing at least an hour less than I pay them for each week (which they admitted) so the company are sending someone new tomorrow. I felt awful about complaining but I could have been cheated out of several hundred pounds if they've been doing it for the two years they've been cleaning for me.

I hope you all have a good day.

JackieO - good news abot yor brother x

    BB- glad you're back!:j

hello to pennypincher if you're reading the thread- hope you're not feeling too grotty x x

Had a hectic day at work - no water there yesterday evening so loads if washing to do and only 2 of us to do it.
Its sad but the people I support will be some of the first to feel the cutbacks.:( They are losing their mobility allowances so will lose their cars soon. These cars are lifelines to the severely disabled. They will be unable to go out much into the community and take part in activities as most of them would be unable to use public transport.
We have lost some service users already (from another area) as their local authority is chosing cheaper care for them - cheap but not as good as us(we are a specialised service for blind adults with additional disabilities)

anyway back on topic - OS today - washing on airer, tea is using up odds and ends from the freezer. I made some mince pies yesterday at work using the Best Mince Pie Pastry recipe from this site and as ususal they were yummy!:) worth making everyone if you've never tried the recipe before.

    Thats about it for now.

    back later x

    Hi all,

Feeling a bit tired today as the dog wanted to go out at 12.45,rushed out to eat some grass, then was sick at 4 .Seems ok now though.

At 7.30 all our power went off,DH went down the fuse route etc as we could see lights in some houses, but then they all went off.Went out talking to neighbours to see the end of the road cordoned off and a fire engine.Apparently a leccy grid had set on fire.It came back on just before one, which was pretty good as the men thought it would be later today. Its right next to the school, and you can see burn marks up the wall:eek:
I was panicking a bit about my freezers :D I'd like to say I spent the time fruitfully but I didnt.

Anyway,I thought I was well prepared, but there were still some things to consider, like finding your torch, candles etc in the dark :D
Also our gates are electric,so DH couldn't get out until he'd found the keys that let you manually open them.Once it came back on,I headed to Mr S and got a few more supplies in.I might look for an old manual type phone as ours wouldnt work, and I knew my mobile was running low.All in all a salutary lesson ;)-I'd spent some of last night reading the 'what has the cold weather taught you' thread :rotfl:
Mioliere-I hope you get better news about your BIL.
Jackie O - glad your brother is out of hospital.

    Take care all xx

    evening everyone

hugs and thoughts and wishes for poorlies, sorelies and rellies that fit into that category too.

Wages week at work, busy but have not done any extra this time as due to 'a little knowledge being a dangerous thing' I have seen something I shouldn't have and have realised that I am not valued above others who refuse to work over etc.

Went out to try and find something else to buy OH for xmas, he is difficult to buy for, have got him a new wallet 'cos he needs one, but am stuck on what else to get him. Any suggestions???

Apart from him I think I am just about finished. No one has really got a lot this year, but it is wrapped nicely :rotfl::rotfl:Still got a bit of wrapping to do.

OS wise, errrrrrrrrr, only me here tonight so had poached eggs for tea, did have chilli from the freezer with a jacket spud for lunch though, glad we have a microwave at work :D Have put washing on since I got home, will hang around the place tonight and finish off in the TD tomorrow morning. Need to wash the kitchen floor but the mop was outside drying, it's now outside soaking wet and too dark for me to find it, well thats my excuse anyway!

Am looking forward to seeing my family at Christmas, not long now. Am doing a christmas dinner for OH's lot at the weekend, unless we get the snow and Mr T can't deliver...then I will be doing a big spag boll for OH's family :rotfl:

    enjoy your evening xx

Zero OS here today; I'm not well enough to do more than see to Sidney's needs.:(

Mr LW made me a veggie sausage-inna-bun, and it's exhausted me eating it.

I do wish stressful situations didn't affect me so badly, but unfortunately, wishing don't make it so!:(
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Evening all,

Well, I've finally heard from the OH and he's flying home tomorrow!!!!! :j:j:D It finally feels like Christmas now :) I'm hoping he'll fly to Manchester otherwise I'll have to drive down to Heathrow tomorrow to avoid the nervous breakdown the country's going to have when the snow comes again...

And onto today: went for a lovely very cheap lunch (£3.69 for a full carvery) with my best friend from uni and had a catch up. Also mamaged to give her loads of jam and preserves as her Christmas present. It was lovely to see her, as I speak to her every day, but ahven't seen her for a month.

Apart from that, nothing much has happened really, I'm currently watching A Touch of Frost but have had not dinner and really want some spaghetti hoops! I'll have to go out for them though, so may have to see if there's anything else I fancy.

I had a snooze earlier so am not tired; will probably clean the livingroom, kitchen and bathroom in preparation for OHs return. Not that he'll care; he's been away for 3 weeks and just wants to get home ;)

Hugs to all that need them.

    T xx
