Morning all,
It's only 10:40 and I've already had a rubbish morning! The shower broke while I still had conditioner in my hair, so had to rinse it out over the sink, cut a nice chunk out of my leg, had an arguement with OH, then his car wouldn't start and we couldn't find the jump leads and then I got to work 20 minutes late (lucky for me the boss isn't in!), and to top it all off I've woken up with a terrible cough, so I would quite like to go back to bed and start again!
Oh well! The day seems to be looking up, it's quiet in the office today and I don't have a whole lot to be getting on with at the moment, there's never much going on at this time of year, so I can browse on the internet for a while.
I have uni tonight, so OH will be doing tea, probably pasta, maybe with garlic bread if he can be bothered!
Not much OS going on this evening as I won't get in until around 9:30-10:00 and will then just eat and go to bed to read a book.
Hugs to those that need :grouphug:
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning all. Hope those who are ill are feeling much better.
Just got into work to have my boss say he wants a word - heres me quaking in my boots, until he tells me that the bank have not honoured my wages cheque - so I've not been paid for November yet. GRRRRR. Off to get dog food from near Sheffield this evening - have hired a van and will take the children from school which will make their day! They love riding in the van. So dinner tonight will be from the Golden Arches. OH can have what we didn't eat last night. Pie and veg. Last of the christmas cards to post off today and then I'm going to concentrate on cleaning the house so it sparkles for christmas - I can then put my feet up and relax.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning (just) all. Another rubbish night's sleep followed by a long day, OH and flatmates came in late and noisy and in my half awake state started arguing *at* OH oops, i'm currently making last minute tweeks to a presentation i have to give later today.
I left my job yesterdayI realised I wouldn't be able to work much after xmas cause of my exams so asked if I could leave after then, the manager knows i'm megaaa stressed so did a ring around and an old member of staff was delighted to take over my job from next week and do the extra hours i can't so my last day is saturday! I really need to focus more on my uni work right now, it's worth more than the extra £300 i would have earned, but I'll really miss it there
I'm hungry but trying to hold out til lunch! Think OH is cooking tonight, hope so anyway! I also need to finish cleaning the kitchen and revise for my thursday exam!!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Take big deep breaths............in.............out............in............out
Sorry needed that. I wanted to be ready for the big event by 12 noon on Christmas Eve. Now I need to be ready by MONDAY!!!!!!!:eek::eek: Hospital just phoned and they want me to go in on tuesday for a hernia operation. Took a few moments for it to sink in. I'm off work with a prolapsed disc which, thankfully is improving and will not affect the operation. Dad is in the same hospital I will be going in, but might have been discharged by then. I have to rest for 48 hours after op, recovery time is a week or two.
Positive thinking required.........Dad is much, much better. Back is much better. Christmas will happen and what isn't ready will not matter. We will all be together. DH will be cooking Christmas Dinner whilst I am recovering on the sofa with a selection box.:D:D

H/Hester once your OH has got his Kindle he will turn into Mr Happy, I love mine and find it brilliant.I have 25 books stored on there and all I need now is time to read them all.
Just a note to any laptop/netbook owners, there is a PC download which lets you read kindle books, it is on the amazon website and FREE. Loads of Freebooks on there too.
Right on with my OS post, not that there has been much around here.
Yesterday we took the caravan down to the dealers at Lincoln for its annual service (ouch!!) It was too dark to thread it onto the drive when we got back, so took it to a local site we have used before, and put it on there for the night, and went back this morning to collect it, and get it in place, they would not let us pay for the night, but we do run a rally there every couple of years, which gives them good income.
Need to go to town to return a pair of trousers I got off the straight leg rack, and when I got home were wide leg ones, which I have enough of.
Welcome beckseven - ask away at how or what to do OS wise, and remember you do what suits you, some things suit one person and other suit another.
Had other half of the ham I cooked on Sunday with oven chips last night for tea, and need to go and raid the freezer now and see what else I can use up for tonight.
Better get my butt in year.
Take care all and (((hugs)))) to the poorlies or with poorly rellies. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -

I want you to print that off and put it somewhere you can see it as I think that's a very good way to view what's happening.
Right I think I am in a calmer frame of mind. I didn't realise my stroppy post got posted as the screen kept freezing :rotfl:
Anyway been to the dentist, I have lovely teethand only needed a scale and polish. DS was really good but DD played it up for my mum who was downstairs with her. We could hear her screaming from the surgery room
I need to make a quick bag of Reindeer Poop for mindees mum and get cracking on with the cleaning. I MUST not spend the next 2 hours sitting on here. It really gets me de-motivated so I think short bursts of surfing are required

Hoping DH gets a call about when his interview is today and he's also going to give his details to an employment agency thats got a good reputation locally. He needs to do a cv .Can anyone point him in the direction of some good advice on how to do a good one please?Gintotmelinda wrote: »What about OH seeing a Next Step advisor in your area? We have them in our training organisation....try googling...I think they can help.Butterfly_Brain wrote: »My DD has used them and they are useless - what a waste of taxpayers money
I would second the suggestion for Next Step - their advisors are different in every area, so you may not have the poor experience BB's DD has had. Link0
