Still snuffly today but surviving... so far!

I'm really fed up of having colds at the moment. I think my immune system must be really low because it seems that the moment I recover from one cold I get another one dispite all the vitimins I take. I didn't seem to get so ill when I could affort to go to the gym 3/4 times a week... maybe I'll be able to afford to do that again next year.

Anyway, the sniffles have stopped me painting again... I'm affreaid to put paint to paper when I'm so distracted by sniffing but I really should get on with preparing art card images for my website... I just can't find the motivation to do anything but go home and cuddle by hot water bottle. Ho Hum! I've got the weekend to myself (at the moment) so hopefully I can get some work done then.

Yesterday I had a call from a chap at Sky (who had no sense of humour) who advised me that my contract problems would be resolved 11/03. I've heard it all before and I've decided that this time if it doesn't happen I'll move my service... Does anyone know what Plus Net are like?

I love the first of the month. It's accounts updating day for me... Is it sad that I get excited about recording my accounts? It'll be a few days before I will be able to update my cc's but I'm looking forward to doing that too :)

    Hi Amatheya,

I've been reading your diary recently and just wanted to pop in to say congratulations on being able to transfer your cards to a 0% card. Thats great news, and an amazing amount to save on interest too. That money is far better spent on you than on some horrid bank in interest charges.

    It's Friday!!! Yay!!!

So yesterday I received my shiney new cc and aranged for my ballance transferes. All that's left is to wait until the money is shuffled then I can kill the evil high rate card (I'm looking forward to cancelling that one) I'm going to keep the other card for emergencies but I'm not going to use it uless I have a major disadter to deal with... I'm hoping I'm not due one of those for a few years!!

I did have the thought this morning that as my debts are now all on the one 0% perhaps I should make my overpayments to my overdraft which is at 12% +£5 per month usage fee but I'm not sure about that. I think I'd much rather kill my cc before it gores up to 16.9% in 18 months time.

Anywho, Come next month I should have paid off £1k of debt this year (Yay!!) looking forward to that and I've also realised that my minimum payments will be less so not only will I have more breathing room but I should be paying a lot more in overpayments... Ok so in effect my over payments will make it up to what I would have been paying before but it will still be nice to see the extra money showing up in my VSP.

    Have a good weekend :)

    Happy Friday everyone!

Well, I've been out of it for a few days. I seem to be having the most appauling luck health wise lately as no sooner did I get over my cold than one of my wisdome teeth made an appearance and promptly got infected... and to add insult to injury I then had a bad reaction to the antibiotics the dentist gave me and sended up living in a world where my head was swimming and the floor was rippling like water under my feet. (I am reliably informed that the floor wasn't really moving)

So, checked my old cc account last night and discovered that the ballance transfer has gone through. I'd been looking forward to calling up Egg and telling them to get stuffed all week but unfortunately the woman I spoke to was really nice so I didn't have the heart. At least I have the lovely feeling of knowing that my high APR cc has now been cancelled. I now just have to wait for the statment for the card I'm keeping for emergencies to check if I need to make any more payments to clear it.

I've made up my mind that I will ignore my OD until my one remaining cc is paid. It may not be the best option snowball wise but it's the best option mentally. Once I've got rid of my new credit card I'll be closer to being debt free than I could have ever imagined a year ago.

This weekend I really need to get some painting done and get some art cards up on the internet. I've started a new Geisha painting but I haven't been able to concentrate through the pain. Hopefully this weekend it'll be a bit better :)

I also need to sell some more ebay stuff next time there's a free listing day, I don't have much left and maybe I should do a bootsale to get rid of everything that isn't worth selling on ebay... my only worry there is that I tend to buy more than I sell at bootsales lol!

Well it's Monday again but atleast it's only 2 weeks until payday.

I had a lovely weekend. The weather here was nice so I opended all the windows to air out my flat then I cleaned the kitchen bathroom and livingroom which while not fun did make me feel good when I was finished. Just the bedroom to plow through next. I think when I do that I'll take the big wardrobe down and put some new shelves up.

I also got some artwork done this weekend which was good. I'm about half way though my new Geisha painting which I'll hopefully finish this week. I didn't update my website with a card shop which is bad but I'll try to rectify that during the week as well.

I also went on a little shopping spree this weekend. I know not very good for my debts but it was a well behaved shopping spree. I want to have a mooch in the second hand stores and bought myself 3 boks and 2 DVDs and only spent £5.50. I'm looking forward to the local bootsale starting up again :)

Well, that's me for now. Not much is going on until payday when I can sort out my VSP for the month and make my first overpayment to my new card. I should be able to put an extra £150 to £200 on my debts this month because of the bonus I received and the lack of council tax. I'm looking forward to seeing what my pay/outgoings are like in April after tax changes and several alterations to my rent and pay come into effect. At the moment I'm stull hoping to be conssiderably better off going forward but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Have a good week everyone :)

    Happy Hump day everyone :)

Not much to report today. I've finally started updating my website. I think it's going to take me a few days particularly because I'm exhausted after sleeping really badly the last couple of nights. I've got no idea why but every now and then I get really bad insomnia :( I'm also going to have to look into a new card printer as my current supplier is just too expensive for me to make much of a profit, not that I expect to make much of a profit on cards but I need to make something and I would prefure using a supplier who would allow me to print what I like on the back as well as the front.

I also had some good news today. The score I received after my review at work was better than I expected so I should get a small pay rise in April. I'm expecting something like £20 to £30 per month extra after tax if it follows the guide I was given but I don't want to count my chickens until I have the money in the bank. Still I appear to be on target to have about an extra £50 in the bank every month come April :)

Right, I better get back to work!

Grrr... Why is it that when you don't want something it's in all the shops but the moment you want it, it becomes like gold dust!

One of the books I bought last weekend was Twilight. I wasn't expecting to like it that much because I didn't think much of the movie so even though I saw the second book in the second hand store at the time I didn't bother buying it. As it turned out I loved the book and couldn't put it down, so much so that I've already finished reading it. So today I went out to look in the second hand shops for the second book and couldn't find it in any of them :( I could of course see numourouse coppies of both the first and third book (bangs head against brick wall) I resent paying £5 on Amazon or £8 in the shops, when I know I will be able to pick it up for £1 in the second hand shops if I wait but this is just terribly frustrating... The worse thing is that I know the moment I do get my hands on the second book every second hand copy of the third book will wink out of existance and I'll be just as frustraited again.

    End of rant...
