I've been so lazy this week. I've been going home after work, curling up with some sewing and then going to bed at 9pm. It's nice to do for a couple of days but I really should get my bottom in gear and do stuff.
I'm going to scour the house tonight for stuff to put on ebay. Even if it only earns me a couple of quid that's better than nothing and even though I am pretty sure I've ebayed the stuffing out of my flat I'm sure there is still plenty of fluff sitting around gathering dust. For example I realised today that I have about 10 expensive computer illustration magazines that are now out of print and rare. I haven't read them since I boght them so they won't be missed. Surely they will sell for a few quid, and I've got several pairs of new velvet gloves that I was given. I was keeping them just in case but if I can clear my debts I can buy all the velvet gloves I like! lol
Yes, it's definately time to stop sitting on my bottom and get on with things!0 -
Friday tomorrow!!!
I love friday, mainly because it means that Saturday isn't far behind!
I really have failed to do anything productive this week except sleep. I hate January! I have however been a good girl and not bought anything or eaten anything that I shouldn't... except a caramel biscuit but I only had one so I don't think I'll get struck down for that. Weigh in day is tomorrow so with any luck I'll have lost at least 1lb so that I can tick off the first 1/2stone of my target.
It's shopping day today and I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I have just over £2 in cash left until pay day (in 7 days time) and a couple of £'s available in the bank. I could probably get by on what's in the cupboards if I only bought milk and sandwich meat with my £2 or I could spend a little bit more and get some salad and fruit so that I can eat healthy. I really, really don't want to dip into my bank though as I still have some dd's to come out and I really want to add a few more quid to my VSP beforer the end of my pay month as I've suddenly become hyper aware of how much interest I'm paying on my high rate cc. Oh well, I think i'll just have to do my best... maybe I'll just get some yoghurts to keep me going
This weekend I really need to finish my painting and start another. I'm about a week behind where I wanted to be and I have to get my bottom in gear. I can't afford to frame it before I get paid but I can atleast cut the matt board. I'm thinking that I will set up an etsy store to advertise my work and I can sell my ratty cards on there too
I also want to get some ebay stuff on. I've found a few bits and peices that should sell so I may be able to make a few quid for my VSP.
The only other thing I want to do which isn't exactly money saving is use some fabric I have lying around to make some small beanbags out of a huge gaming beanbag that I made about 5 years ago. I made it to match the livingroom in my ex's house and it really doesn't go in my appartment which is all light walls and hand painted furniture.
Right, I suppose I should get back to work!0 -
Friday! I love fridays, no getting up at 6am for me tomorrow!
I managed to get my shopping done last night. I could only affort yoghurt, bread, milk and sandwich meat but I've got stuff in the cuboard. Even better I'm repairing a top for a friend and she's given me £10 for materials and labour which means I shuld have a couple more £'s to get salad and cerialI'm not going to starve after all.
Diet is still going well on paper but I forgot to weigh in this morning so I'll be weighing in tomorrow instead. I had steak for dinner last night so it's probably for the best lol.0 -
A little bit of good money news has come my way.
My company are offering to buy or sell up to 5 days holiday this year so I've immediately offered to sell 5 days. It's not as if I have the money to go on holiday anyway *shrug*. The money I receive for doing this should be paid over the year as part of my normal salary and after tax it should work out at about £20 to £25 extra per monthIt might not sound like much but I'm sure it will make me just that little bit more comfortable when added to the small statutory pay rise (outs is slightly higher than average this year and next year as they're buying us out of a bonus scheme
) and I still haven't given up hope for a small bonus but I now doubt it will work out as more than £100 if it appears at all.
Only a few days until pay day now... I'm desperate!!!0 -
Have you also checked what your wage will be from April 2011 as your personal tax allowance will change, Im going to be about £20 per month better off.
Im desperate too for pay day cant come quick enoughMARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035
EST DFD JAN 2021 (that needs to change)
NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)0 -
Ooo... I didn't know personal tax was changing... I'll be off to look that up now
Edit
I just had a look at the new tax rates and I could be £20 better off tooAlso when I calculated in selling 5 days holiday and the pay uplift we're supposed to be getting where I work I could be as much as £70 better off per month
That would be awsome!!!!

Hi All, hope you had a fab weekend
My weekend turned out to be quite productive in the end. I spent Saturday taking my mom around tile shops (very boring) as I'm going to re-decorate her bathroom. When I got home I made a couple of mini-bean bags, finished my lattest painting and started the preliminary sketches for my next painting and I even managed to do some cleaning.
Sunday I fixed my friends top, did some more sketches and some more cleaning and then curled up for a Bones marathon in the evening (I love Sundays)
I remembered to weigh in on Saturday and found that I had lost 1lb :T So I've now lost a total of 1/2 stone :j Only 21lb to go
On the money front this will be a quiet week. I get paid on Thursday so I'll atleast be able to buy a decent amount of food :T and I'm looking forward to seeing my pay slip to see if the pay rise has taken effect yet. I've also confirmed that I can sell 5 days of holiday and I should end up with an additional £35 per month after tax :j
I'm heading out on a charity quiz night of Friday. Last time I went to this one my team came lastAnything better than that will be an improvement... at least it's in a pub this time
Have a good week0 -
Ah well done on the weight loss! That's great progress - keep up the hard work! :beer:Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0

Thank goodness it's pay day tomorrow... I'll be able to eat something other than beans on toast for the first time in a week!!! lol
I managed to finish off the month paying a extra £19.19 on my credit card which is fantastic considdering I have absolutely no money! I was disapointed to see that I've got a £16 fee on there for going over my limit... scratch that, I didn't go over my limit, they attributed interest which took me over my limit without warning meNever mind it's back under control now and hopefully next month will be all together less expencive and less stressy although I do have to buy my sister's birthday pressent tomorrow and ship it to Canada (she wants lots of Galexy chocolate as you can't get it over there)
As far as my diets concerned it's still going ok but it's been a lot more difficult this week without money as I have't been able to buy fruit and I've been eating lost of cheap stuff like bread and crisps... cheap jelly is fantastic though as it fills you up and has hardly any caloriesI'm not expecting to lose anything this week but that's ok as I know I'll do better next week.
I'm soo happy it's hump day!!0 -
