what sort of government uses water cannon on protestors?

As you have a EU passport if you can find a job then you can easily move. Lots of roles in the service industry require speaking English so language isn't necessarily a barrier.i'll pick paying more tax then thanks.:Dof course there are far more options for increased tax than the rather loaded suggestion of taxing food purchases you put forward. trying to scare the horses again with faux hobson's choices.
Nope I was just pointing out what the countries actually do.
I think we are the only EU country that zero rates for VAT basic food stuff, books, magazines and children clothing.
Other countries i.e. French put tax on food but it's not nearly as expensive as in Scandinavian countries. Part of it's the small populations but the other part seems to be profiteering due to lack of competition.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

there were thousands if not tens of thousands of people on these protests.Where as he said that he 'believes everything I see on the news'? You can see from the news footage that there is a significant, criminal element of these protests who are there to cause trouble. You can gather that by watching a couple of minutes plain footage with the sound down. That's not to say that all media coverage is a fair representation of the whole picture, but facts are facts.
the behaviour of a couple of hundred (if that) of these is a small proportion to what was actually happening and has been magnified by the media.
just because Graham is a bit slow it doesn't mean the whole of the population of Devon is stupid - let's not let the media distort the events to get a headline...0 -
While these are proven the exact mix cannot be.Do you believe that:
1. There is an inherited component to intelligence.
2. There is an environmental component to intelligence
Plus the important part of inherited "intelligence" in a society depends on what each society needs.
The Royals are the top social class in the UK. As a group they did very badly academically considering they had access to the most expensive education money could buy in the UK.3. Those from the top three social classes are likely to have children of similar inherited characteristics to themselves.
You mean using their money to buy access to the best education faculties in the UK, well yes.4. Those from the top three social classes are more likely to see the benefit of providing an environment for their children that is conducive to learning and expressing intelligence than those with more difficult backgrounds?
However there was a study out recently showing that in other countries (yes Scandinavian countries came out highly in this) there was a much smaller link between parental wealth and academic outcome.
Do you know what sexism, racism and other -ism are caused by in employment and training? People choosing people like them and setting entrance criteria to ensure that people like them can get in more easily. If you believe those things, it would appear that equality of opportunity suggests that there should be a high proportion of those in the top three social classes at Oxbridge on the basis of merit, simply because of the inherited and consequential factors.
Changing the biology of inheritance is a tough problem. So is changing the perception of those who are intelligent that it's good for them to help their children to realise the benefits of their inherited intelligence.
It's much easier to get into Oxbridge if your teachers are aware of the entrance criteria and train you up to pass that criteria which includes social skills. Much harder if they don't.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Lets consider the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
"Everyone has the right ...
Of course, what far too many forget (or choose to ignore) is that with rights come responsibilities.0 -

What exactly are you on about chucky?
Where have I said ALL the protestors caused issues?
You show me that.
Then I will link you up to the several times on this threads I have purposely seperated peaceful protest with mere criminals intent on causing damage.
If you are just here to try and bait, then bait. But that's not even baiting, it's just you running around in circles looking for anything to try and attack me for, and falling over each time.0 -
you missed the point completely [again]...Graham_Devon wrote: »You show me that.
you're trying to make it into something it's not through your ever so pedicatable victim routine - it's tragic0 -

if you didn't understand, maybe extra reading and comprehension lessons at an adult education institute may be a good start...Graham_Devon wrote: »Well thats probably because it's difficult to grasp what your point actually is.
On asking you what your point is, it appears all you are willing to tell me, is that I missed it.
I take it you don't know what your point is, either?
this isn't another Graham_Devon thread btw, it's a discussion please feel to get involved... thanks0
