Mobileshop.com Problems

Sorry but I feel that when you keep moving all the concern about Mobileshop.com under the thread " r they the only trusted cash back dealer"

The thread title does not really reflect the concern and issues we are trying to flag here.

Maybe the tile can be edited to something more effective to reflect the concerns.

Or we can be allowed to open a separted thread “Mobileshop Problems” like we have for E2save.

    Quite right.

That thread title is totally misleading, and one wonders if it was started by a mobile shop sympathiser or employee. (Whoever it was only joined MSE to post that thread).

There are at least 300 threads in this forum that mention the company, and over 30 with the name in the thread title.

    Exactly.

So why does this one get merged?

    Hi,

I have also received an email from them asking me to swap my £105 cash back for Car DVD player.

There is one more thing I have often wonder when reading issues on cash back

When I studied business law a bit there was something in it which was basically saying you entered into contract because X Company agreed to do certain thing.

Now I took out a O2 contract because Mobileshop.com promises me to provide the cash back.

If for some reason say they fail too, I feel O2 should also be liable, as at the end of the day Mobileshop is there agent and I only took the contract out on O2 because they promised to give me cash back.

I known when it will come to the crunch I am sure O2 will defend it to the end but I have serious issues with it.

This may not be appropriate place to post it but ...

Am I missing something? They just asked you....not forced you, right? You have your own right to make the choice?!

ISTR that they have done this kind of thing before - at the back end of last year many people reported being offered £220 as a one-off instant payment before Christmas in return for waiving their staged £360 cashback.

If this was meant to be a sign of Mobileshop in finicial turmoil (as was argued back then also) then they've done extremely well to continue in business for the best part of another year.

I suspect that this is just another plan to utilise the run up to Christmas to increase their profits just like they did last year.

Don't get me wrong...I have doubts about what lies behind their continually increasing payment delays as well. It's just that I don't see this email bargaining from them as anything new or significant.

Not sure what the fuss is about. I have just this week received 3 lots of payment for £90 each bang on time (allowing for their unilateral increase from 45 days to 60 days). Frankly speaking they are a dream to deal with.

If you haven't yet paid these 3 cheques in it might be a good idea to get in touch with them regarding the portable dvd player offer.

Hopefully they may still have 3 left, and will send them out in exchange for you returning their uncashed cheques.

You may not have 3 loved ones to give them to this christmas, but you could sell them for a little more than the value of your cheques and turn a nice profit on the deal.
