Flying out end of week, snow?

We will be flying out of Gatwick on Friday for an all inclusive holiday but it seems that the weather may turn for the worst...

We do have travel insurance, but when claiming for such incidents, how do you go about it? what information do the insurance companies look at? how do they decide that it is a valid claim considering if the airport is open but the roads to the airport are blocked or traffic jammed.
The reason I am really worried is that we are travelling with a child and an infant.

I can understand your concern but I wouldn't be too concerned with what is forecast in The Sun

If you're really worried and have any distance to travel I'd think about maybe travelling to Gatwick the day/evening before and staying overnight.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Too early to tell what the weather will be like at present.....
Keep an eye on the met office site, make sure you leave plenty of time to get there and enjoy the bar at Gatwick if there's delays!0 -

I have the airport on Friday for a 5.45am check-in. And husband refuses to take a taxi. I'm hoping it's cancelled if the weather is bad!0 -
