i have cable and satelite so the source is good at all times(rain etc)--i keep getting conflicting info about this Hz --people are saying i will suffer blur on a 50hz set with footie because of the action!--sounds like this isnt as conclusive as that---how do you get the info of the response speed from manufacturers/shops ads??
In my opinion 100Hz is worth having, but only you can decide whether you can tell the difference between that and 50Hz.
Make a shortlist of sets and have a really careful look at each one in the shop with it showing the same type of thing that you will be watching at home.
The specifications for each set will be on the manufacturers website. If they are not, cross the set off your shortlist.
The first thing you need to do is find out whether you are able to receive an HD broadcast or not. There is absolutely no point in getting a TV that looks superb in HD in the shop only to find you can only get SD at home.0 -
If you want to get rid of blurring at a football match, the first thing you need to check is what cameras the broadcaster is using! Then follow the path from there, to you screen, right at the end!
De1amo - I guess you have a CRT now? I also guess that it's 50Hz. Do you get blurring? For some people, CRTs flicker, as do fluorescent lights - for most though, they don't.
Penrhyn - yes, hence the 'not quite right, but it will do!' - was trying to keep it simple!
bosseyed - stop saying that! (sorry pet hate!) You meant to say LED trumps CCFL in most cases. And a crap LED screen won't look anywhere near as good as a good CCFL one, I think you've been listening to too many salesmen. You'll be really confused when OLED comes along.0 -
just looked at the reports online and got a samsung led 40 incher--its cost well over the odd against the uk list but its par for the course here--electricity is cheap! a service guy will come early tomorrow morning to set it up--they have said the manufacturers wall bracket will cost me an extra 20 quid fitted--i am sure i saw they were quite expensive in the uk websites??mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
