Beware of a company named Rewardsfirst.co.uk

The first I knew about this company was when they appeared on my bank statement after the had taken out £15.
Although I still haven't figured out how they managed to get my details.
Somehow they must trick people into tick a box on applications for other stuff, probably in minute print somewhere where you don't notice it.
However once you registered they keeptaking your money for a supposed discount scheme.
So Beware.
After doing a bit of searching around on the net I also found out that they don't even have a real contact address.

  • Had a quick glance at the site. Everything is laid out in the t&cs, including a full registered company address.

Not a fan of this sort of scheme, but they don't seem to do anything wrong.

Just did a first ever order with zavvi.co.uk - at the end of the transaction it had a link to receive £10 Cash Back on the current Zavvi.com purchase.

Rewards First Membership to the Rewards First programme for 30 days FREE.

After the 30 day free trial, a membership fee of £14.95 per month will be charged by Rewards First to the credit or debit card entered on the registration form and then each month so long as you remain a member. To can cancel at any time you can either visit their website or by calling an 0845 number and you will no longer be charged. If you cancel within the first 30 days, you pay nothing.

But having read the previous reports I think I will pass on this, even though I spent only £12 with Zavvi. I'm not sure I want to pass mmy CC details just for a £10 reward.

Just a quick post to say I was in the same predicament. Looking at my statement I was worried I had my account hacked until I remembered what had happened. But after a bit of a wait on the phone I got through and they cancelled my account so they say, I await to see if it's true..

    I disagree.

    I noticed a similar scheme when i bought a ticket on thetrainline.com

After buying train tickets there's a jpg image which looks like a continue button. Most unsuspecting people would click continue to confirm their ticket booking (when in fact the sale has already completed).

Your details are then automatically taken and you are signed up for this other service.

    I think this is deceptive!

Try the contact us section on their website, It's 0845 026 1091 plus it's usually on your bank statement.
  • its not showing on bank statement and bank could not help us told us to go on internet to get details, had to cancel bank card but was told by the bank that they could still take the money every month, and they could not help us.
  • Hi

RewardsFirst has asked us to post on here in reply. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the forum.

I work with Adaptive Affinity Ltd which operates the Rewards First and I'd like to firstly apologise for your experiences to date.

I've read your post and just want to take this chance to help if I can. I would just like confirm that

    * We do not get passed any information from 3rd parties

    * You physically have to enter all your details onto our sign up page (a copy of which I'm happy to send you)

    * We always send a welcome email with information about the programme AND how you can cancel by phone (on 0870 143 2343), email (contact@rewardsfirst.co.uk)

Unfortunately I can't track from this feed your email address to confirm or cancel your membership with us. May I recommend that you call/ email against the above details to cancel, where our UK CS team will be more than happy to help.

Also it would be great if you could post back so we know how you got on.

    Jenelle
