    Hi

RewardsFirst has asked us to post on here in reply. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the forum.

I work with Adaptive Affinity Ltd which operates the Rewards First and I'd like to firstly apologise for your experiences to date.

I've read your post and just want to take this chance to help if I can. I would just like confirm that

    * We do not get passed any information from 3rd parties

    * You physically have to enter all your details onto our sign up page (a copy of which I'm happy to send you)

    * We always send a welcome email with information about the programme AND how you can cancel by phone (on 0870 143 2343), email (contact@rewardsfirst.co.uk)

Unfortunately I can't track from this feed your email address to confirm or cancel your membership with us. May I recommend that you call/ email against the above details to cancel, where our UK CS team will be more than happy to help.

Also it would be great if you could post back so we know how you got on.

    Jenelle

I've just noticed that I've been charged £14.95 each month since June last year. I never delete any of emails and I can guarantee that I never received the welcome email they claim to send. Without it, it is not even possible to log in on their site, to receive whatever dubious benefit their coupons offer.

I have just sent them an email challenging them to prove that I signed up. No doubt they will claim that my email details don't match - of course they don't - they never had my email in the first place. So where do I stand? - I can't see how the onus can be on me to prove that I did not sign up

Has anyone had any success in recovering money scammed from them in this way? I can see myself taking them to the small claims court.
  • Just did a first ever order with zavvi.co.uk - at the end of the transaction it had a link to receive £10 Cash Back on the current Zavvi.com purchase.

Have you really not checked your statements for 8 months? Things like this are one reason why you should keep an eye on what is being debited from your account.

If you get nowhere with them then try speaking to your bank and telling them they are fraudulent transactions.

Then your bank get your details and its not fraud.....

These co's are well known to the departments that deal with this.

Interesting to note that they used to have a free phone number, the supposed staff post cannot quote the same number that is listed on the site....

its not showing on bank statement and bank could not help us told us to go on internet to get details, had to cancel bank card but was told by the bank that they could still take the money every month, and they could not help us.

Your bank HAS TO TAKE YOUR CANCELATION.

PSD (payment services directive) states that you can now cancel a CPA with the bank/card provider.
As such any payments taken after you contacted them. Have to be refunded, straight away. And they will then be chargeback to the company.
If they still stonewall you on the above.
    Mention COMPLAINT.
The team that deal with complaints will be well aware of PSD and how failure to comply is a big fine risk.
