Morning all, I'm up really late but didn't actually sleep much and feel rubbish
I'm working 12-9 today which I really don't want to do! I wasn't told about the shift change until saturday so i'm missing a friend's b'day meal and have no time tonight to prepare for my presentation tomorrow! OH well, got a spud in the oven to take for my lunch/dinner and some work to do on my break, i usually skip breaks and finish early but not sure if they'll let me today boo.
I've been given lots of awful last minute shifts in the run up to christmas and whilst I'm travelling 150? miles home for christmas and have to work xmas eve, a girl who is only travelling home to the other side of london has been given it off!! Livid, especially livid as they left the rotas so late that i'm having to pay full price for my train ticket home
I'm really looking forward to going home, so clean and so peaceful, get to see my fam and go out with friends I haven't seen in a few months. When things get stressful I wish I still lived at home
sunnyday, thay's the best story, kittens on the walls

Morning all
Happy birthday JackieG! :T
Not a hugely early start for me today, but was up and walking the dog at 8.30 rather than 9.30 as has been usual for me since I finished uni!
Have already hoovered out and cleaned the car, and am about to pull myself together and start on the bedroom. I just have no enthusiasm to go up there; it always seems so dark as it's a north facing room, so I always find an excuse not to clean and tidy it
Lunch is whatever I can find to nibble. I'm off out to a friend's this evening (third time lucky; the weather and my central heating have conspired to put it off twice) so am being cooked for :j
Apart from that, I'll probably have a quick tidy up before I go out. I'm finding it difficult not to just sit about checking my e-mails as I haven't heard from the OH for 4 days - if anything had happened someone would have let me know, but I always worry more when I'm on my own.
Have a good day all, and hugs to those who need them.

Just had my lunch of cold broccoli cold egg plant and yoghurt with a spicy luke warm chicken dish--i dont know why turks cant get something warm on the menu in this weather--i bought loads of soup for home on friday but it seems they reserve soup only for summer!!--i will go shopping again this week and see if they still have any soup on special offer to 'give' to the canteen cook.-it was 5 good flavoured soups(4 helpings) for 2 quid and included a nice ceramic bowl--i will keep the bowl for home!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Had to go to the bank this morning to pay some bills  I wish BG would wait until after bloomin Christmas. I also had to put a prescription in so I have enough of my medicine to see me through till the New year. It is a long Christmas break because it falls on a weekend this year.
I am planning to get a few last minute bits tomorrow and then only salad stuff and milk to get next weekI am going to get some milk and put it in the freezer just in case I can't get out if the forecast is correct:eek:

Afternoon all,
I'm freezing, the temp seems to have dropped a lot since I went out at lunchtime, and I've been stood at a bus stop for 40 mins-supposed to be every 15 mins:eek:I've been to the school I used to work at,they invited me to their Nativity, which was lovely, and nice to see the children that I knew.
Finally back home and realised I forgot to take tea out of freezer,so I'll do corned beef hash quick when my fingers have warmed up.
I've got a lot of my cards out of the way today, and 2 presents at the weekend.
NPM- you all looked lovely, and DS looked very smart. Thanks for showing us.
JackieG-Happy Birthday-hope you are having a good day.
Hope all poorlies start to feel better soon.xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi chums is it me or is the site very slow this afternoon, must be its increasing popularity I think.Well got the overseas cards all sent off and quite a few of the U.K. ones as well only another dozen to go, plus about a dozen locally posted through the letter box ones.Still can't find that blooming B&Q voucher .Took my library books back and managed to get a Ken Follet book to last me over Christmas and New Year.
I'm not too sure what i fancy to eat tonight I think I may just have a quick bacon, egg and mushrooms for a change I don't feel like cooking,Its my first night off from Uni so I will be able to put my feet up and watch some dross t.v. for a change. Although I do enjoy the Jimmy McGovern 'Accused' at 9.00 .
Its got very cold and damp in the past half an hour so i'm going to put my heating on for awhile just to warm up a bit.
Hope everyone has a good evening .I went into M&S to buy some beef & onion pasties and discovered that instead of being as normal around £1.25-30 for two they have been repacked and reduced in size and repriced at 1.99 so I crossed that off my shopping list ,along with the normal 69p sweet beetroot thats been repacked in a plastic jar instead of a glass one (which should really make it cheaper) and the price has gone up by 10p,just because its Christmas. They must think housewives are stupid.
I shop regularly in there so I do know what it normally costs.I will wait until after Christmas when they will drop the price to sell off the over stocked stuff.I spoke to one of the assistants there and she said it was common practice to do this repackaging at Christmas .
I can do without for a couple of weeks so I'm not too bothered but it does make me cross when the prices are increased for no other reason than 'marketing' I would have thought M&S didn't need to do this as they have quite a loyal following of customers as a rule. O.K. rant over I shall become all sweetness and light again:):)
The kettle is calling me and I am in need of a cuppa,
cheers chums
