Happy birthday Jackieg - have a fantastic day

Sorry to hear about your BIL Moliere - fingers crossed

Tissues to all the poorly peeps.

Last week of school this week - so although I'm at work I'll be rushing around like a mad thing trying to get everything sorted out. I'm still making an angel for the top of the christmas tree. Nothing spectacular - have made a cone, convered it with pva glue and tissue paper and stuck a ball on the top for the face. Now have to think about giving it details like a face and clothes!!

No idea whats going on yet today - will probably have something out of the freezer for tea - think Spanish chicken would be a useful dinner as I know I have a lot of that. Oh just seen time - off to wake up OH.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning all

Dark and foggy this morning, but not sure about the temperature though.

DH up and off to work at stupid early so no coffee in bed for me, didn't even hear him get up.

Weekend was ok, managed to get some prezzies delivered to DH's grandad, we lost nan in June this year so will be a difficult Xmas but she wasn't well this time last year and we knew it didn't look good, but at least we can take comfort knowing she is not suffering anymore. Grandad seems to be coping quite well, I think it was much harder for him when she was still with us, she became quite difficult and those close to her were given a bit of a rough ride! I know she didn't mean it but she was very sick, old and scared - I think that makes you get a bit grumpy!

Boys rugby was cancelled yesterday, everywhere had thawed beautifully, but then overnight on Saturday had a very hard frost and the ground was completely frozen, not possible to play rugby on frozen pitches.

Last week at school for the boys, both have extra things going on so going to be a busy week, have managed to organise childcare for next week whilst I'm working but once I finish on Wed 22nd I'm not back at work until the New Year, so nice time off. Still have a few bits to do for xmas but not too worried as nothing major, have decided that I'm not going to run around like a headless chicken I've done the best I can, the boys have got prezzies each and most of the food is organised so that will have to do!

Have to go and get ready for work, really don't feel like it today, hoping I will feel like it when I get there!

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

  • Morning All,

Thank you for the birthday wishes :D I had planned on a wee day out with my sister, but
Ds1 is not well at all, and DS2 has been up half the night with a raging temperature, so that will wait until later in the week. I am relieved in a way as its about -10 out there just now and the frost never lifted all day yesterday, and looks even worse today! Said lovely sister will come up later in the day and I'll nip out for a few things I need then. The tree will go up today, which is our usual tradition.

I have a pot of soup on for my boys, lots of veg and vits to perk them up and I'll make them some treats. Need to also clear out the cupboard under the stairs, which is one of those eurgh jobs.

Loulou, I agree with Kathy, get to the doctor in case you've caught the baby's chest infection.

Kathy, hugs and continued good wishes for DBIL and DSIS. xx

Have a good day all, keep well, and hope those of you who are poorly get well soon.

Hugs, Spoons and Hi5's all round. BBird hope to see you back soon.

    Morning All

Dad took a turn for the worse on saturday and we were called to the hospital. They took him down to theatre late sat night and thankfully all went well. I took mum on yesterday and he is much better, has no recollection of saturday, which is probably for the best. We all feel exhausted but very relieved at the moment.

DS3 is off school, poor love has been up in the night with a bad headache and generally feeling ill. I kept a close eye on him, cold flannel for forehead and calpol and this morning he feels a bit better and is still tucked up in bed.

    What a weekend!

Only plans for today are usual chores and taking mum to see dad this afternoon. Thankfully DH is home today to share the workload.

    Happy Birthday JackieG

Hugs to all the poorly people

Tru - you're so brave having this done so close to Christmas - don't know if I'd be brave enough!
No, not brave - just plain stupid :rotfl:

They were working in jeans and t-shirts while the front and back doors were open, I was wrapped up in leggings, thick socks and jumpers and snuggled on the sofa under a quilt and I still couldn't get warm. But it's all done now :T

Most of the units are back in, I need to clean them and fill them back up - everything is still in the lounge ATM. The guinea pigs haven't been cleaned out for three days, so that job is first on the list. The plumber is coming at 10.30am to re-connect the gas hob.

All this depends on me getting up off the sofa and getting dressed - I'm so happy to be warm and comfy, I don't want to move :D

Bitsy, how did your sale go?

    Morning All,
Hugs to Moliere & Polly & all the poorlies & dependants.
    Happy Birthday to Jackieg
Haven't been around this weekend as we went home to Gosport & had a lovely time. Saw my DM, both of my sisters that live down that way & their families & popped in to Southampton on the way down & saw my DF as well, so all Chrismas prezzies delivered & received, plus a tidy little haul of extras including a brace of pheasants & half a sack of spuds from Dad, a leather coat & shoes, Christmas cake & pudding from Mum, some chutneys from my sis in Scotland, some fudge & some expensive pondfish food all very much appreciated. Had a lovely walk along Stokes Bay with mum, sis, bil, nieces & their three dogs yesterday morning, very bracing & certainly blew the cobwebs away. DP didn't make it as he was suffering a red wine hangover from the cheese & wine party the night before when we also managed a group phone call with our sis on Islay :)
Today we will be having a clean through in preperation for putting up the decs tomorrow, lunch is hm soup & dinner will be the mediterranean lamb with couscous that dp won in the raffle last week.
Right I'm off to catch up with the thread from the weekend & to have alook at NPM's piccies.
Hope everyone is keeping warm, hugs, spoons & hi5's all round.

  • Jackieg Happy Birthday I hope you get lots of spoiling today and your lads are soon on the mend.
NPM you look fabulous dear and what a handsome trio you three make
Moiliers and pollys sorry to hear about your problems I hope they soon resolve themselves.
Well I spoke to my brother David yesterday, and he is out of intensive care and back on a general ward which is good I think he is hoping they will let him go home towards the end of the week. He says he's just bored at the moment, I think he wishes he spent more time learning french.trouble is he is so used to being active and doing things he is like me a very impatient patient.
Today I am sending off my cards as its the last day for Europe and I thought once there done and out of the way thats another job sorted .I bought a B&Q voucher for someones birthday last week and do you think I can find it ,nope its vanished into thin air so I will have to buy another one to replace it Grrr teach me to take more care.
Onlly three more presents to buy and its all done Tomorrow its Christmas Lunch with my craft class then I have to sit for my DD as one of her boys is in the year 6 play and on Wednesday I am going to see it with her eldest boy.I also have my sis-in-law from Faversham coming on Wednesday to see me and I also have to produce a plate of sandwiches for DDs youngest boy for his Christmas Party on Wednesday morning.Roll on next week when all the rushing about will be over I have three carol concerts to go to this week as well as two nativity plays The Almighty will be looking down on me I hope this week-end as we are all off to Liverpool for the week-end .I am praying we don't have any snow.
Well time to get a wriggle on
    Cheers Chums
