Best Gaming Laptop?

The RF510 looks the much better spec... quite a difference actually. Looks like it costs a tad more than the 590, but otherwise I would choose the RF510 if you can afford the extra.0 -
My penny's worth:
Pro-gaming, I'd recommend looking for a matt screen (no point having a maxed out rig and can't play properly because of reflection) but they're hard to find - Dell does a matt screen in the Precision range, but way out of your budget.)
My recent experience in the Dell range (I'm not pushing them, merely giving a localised professional view) is that the Vostro range (small business laptops) can be pushed to give any 'gaming rig' a run for it's money, well within your budget.
Some key points:
Build your system online, then phone Dell and HAGGLE. I know several customers that created an i3 system online at about £700, then haggled up to an i7 for the same price.
Go for the best graphics option, but avoid Nvidia. Get ATi if available. I fix about 6-12 Nvidia chip failures a week, I've had to replace 3 ATi chip failures this year.
Don't accept 3Gb of memory. It's a patent failure in manufacturers to offer this - get matched pairs (2Gb+2Gb, and so on)
Get them to give you 3 year's warranty if you're good at haggling - onsite if possible!
Again, this might sound biased, but I'm self-employed as a contractor to Dell - check all your other options for warranty and callouts - gaming laptops have the highest failure rate in the business and make sure your backside is covered!
I recommend anyone buying any make of laptop secures a good, cheap 3 year warranty on their purchase.
Some good points there. I've been working with Dell equipment, including repairs for over 5 years now. Out of all manufacturers, I find Dell the most reliable overall and their warranty is the best in the business. The 3 Year NBD warranty is awesome
I think the Vostros only come with the Nvidia chips, 330M. Although with 3 years warranty, its probably not an issue.
Provided you can haggle Dell down though, a Vostro 3500/3700 with the closest spec to the Samsung RF510 will come in at about ~£50-100 more. Don't forget the VAT on top, too!
Then again, Dell has the better warrant...

No I think that the RF510 is about the same price as the R590, its coming up on Amazon as the RF510 being £755.92 and the R590 being £710ish, so maybevalue for money... One thing I can't get to work/check if its working is the NUS Amazon discount of 5%. I got the code and everything, but I just have the feeling it doesn't work. It doesn't come up or anything and so far, everything I seem to buy is at the normal price for everyone else..
Also, I would sort of like to clear up on what sort of laptop I am looking for. I want a powerful laptop that is focused around performance. A 4gb ram and a fast processor are a must. I'd like to have the ability to play games if I want to, but this is not the primary use that it will take. The laptop I am thinking of getting must be able to have a long life and still going strong in a few years or two.
With the Dells, I have heard from a friend that they are a nightmare to go with, especially if they send you laptop that needs repairing. I would much rather buy a laptop from a 'more trustworthy' place than Dell, as I have had many problem free experiences with Amazon. The Dell's seem overpriced for what they are and not really for me I think.
