I have just received a similar letter from Natwest. I don't use the account as my main one and the offer I received is

    a) Move my main income, of at least £1000 per month for two consecutive months, to my Natwest account by the end of March 2011.
    b) Use my Natwest debit card at least five times for the same two consecutive months

In return I will receive a £100 gift voucher from a choice of various major stores.

I may move my salary over for a couple of months and see what happens.

    Hi,

I received the same offer aswel:-

    Terms and Conditions
    1. Offer only available to you and any joint account holder(s) who are attached to your current account and been invited to participate.
    2. Only one voucher incentive per account
    3. You will lose the right to benefit from the offer if we deem that your account has not been used in accordance with the terms and conditions below.
    4. In order to qualify for the incentive payment, customers must agree to use the Natwest centralised account switching service to transfer all Direct Debits and Standing Orders from an existing non RBS account current account elsewhere and agree to credit their main source of income (e.g. salary or pension), minimum £1000, by 31 January 2011.
    5. Customers will receive a letter from the Account Switching Service confirming when their transfer is complete. Account transfers generally take four to six weeks to complete.
    6. We will cancel ant bank charges you have to pay as a result of any mistake or unnecessary delay by us when you transfer your current account to us.
    7. Customers who meet the qualifying criteria will receive shopping voucher co0nfirmation for £100 by 31 May 2011.
    8. The cheque can then be exchanged for vouchers for a selection of retailers. The fulfilment of the cheques will be carried out by external partner Projectlink Motivation Ltd. Full details of the retailers included will be provided in the ‘Your Choice’ section of your redemption wallet.
    9. Please note that your cheque cannot be resold, exchanged for cash redeemed in stores.
    10. Retailer voucher (subject to availability) will be dispatched to your home address within 72 hours of receiving your selection. Please allow 3 working days for postal delivery.
    11. Once you have received your voucher the terms and conditions of the retailer apply. We cannot be hold responsible for the loss of, damage to or inability to use the voucher(s) following delivery.
    12. Offer subject to change and may withdrawn at any time.
    13. Offer not open to employee of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group of companies.

No mention that I will have use a debit card - the above was printed at the back of the letter. Is your terms & conditions different?

Hi, Just an update - my switch from Santander to Natwest gone through without any problems. My first salary will be paid on Monday. As I said in the previous post my terms and conditions does not state anywhere that I have to use my debit card but just to keep on safe side I have been using my card for smaller purchases.

Are your conditions are diffirent to mine?

Are you sure you can instant trasfere £1001 ,

Most banks are upto £250 a day instant only !!!

    HSBC is 10k i think
  • Looking at the terms and conditions it is definitely a full switch that they are after as you need to go through their switching team. Transferring 1k from another bank WILL NOT work as they want a salary. They're hoping you will stay with them as going through account switching each time does take between 4-6weeks.

Have just found the letter again and read through the T & C's. Most of them are the same except number 4 justs states that I have to use the debit card at least five times in the same two consecutive months. Nothing is mentioned about the account switching service or Direct Debit set up. Maybe it's because I still used the account a couple of times a month just to keep it "live".

So, move my salary back to my Natwest account for at least two months by the 31st March 2011 and use the debit card five times for those same two months and I get £100 shopping voucher.

I have already done it for January and February so I look forward ( hopefully ! ) to receiving my shopping voucher.

With a bit of luck maybe Lloyds will offer me a similar deal to take my salary back to them :rotfl:
  • Point number 4 states about direct debits.

    5. Customers who meet the qualifying criteria will receive shopping voucher confirmation for £100 by 31 May 2011.
    6. The cheque can then be exchanged for vouchers for a selection of retailers. The fulfilment of the cheques will be carried out by external partner Projectlink Motivation Ltd. Full details of the retailers included will be provided in the ‘Your Choice’ section of your redemption wallet.

As printed on the back of the letter I received. No mention of Direct Debits or having to use the switching service.

Does anyone know if there was a telephone number on the original letter because I called Natwest and noone I spoke to had any idea of the offer. I completed all the steps and I would appreciate any help someone could give. Thanks!

The best thing to do if you haven't had anything, is to call or go into a branch and they will raise it on your behalf. It will then be investigated for you.
    Best Regards

As far as I can see - no phone number on the original letter.

The letter I received confirming account has been transferred - their phone number is 0845 3004189.
