It wasn't a red "while you were out" card. It was a card saying "Something for you" its a P739 card.they all say "something for you" now, along with a change in layout When I came back from collecting the parcel there was another card left saying there were two parcels waiting for me. And that they weren't delivered because they were too large. And yes, I do live in a flat.
live in a flat.now how did i guess that i wonder........
so that will be a flat with controlled entry?
so say you are out on delivery
you buzz the flat and get no answer?
how do you get the card to the flat?
you give it to the foot postie to deliver
they have mail for extra flats and thus more chance of getting in the stair0 -
I would like for people to take a deep breath and think carefully. Did they look at the DATE on the card - and the time the item was delivered?
pet peeve number 1 - customers who throw open the door, hurl abuse at the postperson and say 'I'm in, give me the packet' then get annoyed as said postperson attempts to politely ask the customer to read the card and see that a) they can't travel in time and b) the packet isn't in there magic Mary Poppins style bag.
Yes - it is really rather annoying when you get a Something for You card - yes, I know across the country people don't attempt delivery (against the rules, but it does happen), but please - read the card people and don't just jump to conclusions and accuse the footman.0 -

Our postman apologised for knocking today with a parcel, said he's had some abuse already today for daring to deliver on a Sunday. They're clearing a backlog...!
I was just pleased that one of my deliveries arrived.

having been out all day today delivering predominantly Amazon packets (the company who claimed rather loudly that they weren't going to use Royal Mail after the strikes last year, but have come back to us and not really made a public announcement - funnily enough)- yes, I've had abuse, funny looks and puzzled expressions.
Not one word of thanks for getting the items to people before Christmas.
It's only going to get worse as well.0 -
Our local Royal Mail deliveries are disgusting - I think one of the worst in the country. We are regular victims of the "card through the door without bothering to attempt delivery" saga, its an almost daily event here, and we can prove the time and non-delivery attempt as we have CCTV covering the property. Royal Mail, though, have a bunch of obnoxious flunkies at their "Customer Services" call centre who are trained to be as obstructive and unpleasant as possible, and we have not managed to resolve the "we won't bother to deliver , we'll just blatantly lie about attempting to deliver" issue.
The recent weather led to our area not receiving mail for over two weeks, even though we're only a mile away from the sorting office and were not particularly affected by the weather - everyone managed to get to work in our street, kids were at school and couriers delivered........:(0 -

Methinks someone is changing their story to suit! :rotfl:Gone ... or have I?0 -
Posted 2 recorded delivery small packets Thursday.
One first class to Wales was delivered next day, less than 24 hours after posting.
One second class locally not there yet.
Very happy with Royal Mail

Meh
If people are claiming royal mail and such are so bad why don't you just deliever your own letters to wherever they need to be. Or collect your own letters/parcles - no need for RM/couriers then eh
Why moan. It's better than doing the above isn't it?
Postmen/woman are only doing what they are paid to do. Yet 3/4 of joe public want their crap delivered on a gold plated pillow.
Plenty more things to worry about than a poxy delivery
I've got upmost respect for them. I don't know anyone who's a postie nor have i ever even contemplated doing it. But they do a job that saves me the hassleIf Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0 -
