Not a singular thing, ive bought her clothes, a ragdoll, rattle and some other little soft toys and the most expensive thing was a beautiful engraved bangle for her to have as a keepsake of her first christmas.
Just a personal thing, but I never classed clothes as a present for my daughter, as clothes are something you buy for your children anyway. A roof, clothing & food are basics.
Now she's 23 & I'm not responsible for buying her clothes anymore, I would class clothes as part of a present now.0 -
I have spent around £175 on my DS who is 5. This is between Xmas and his birthday which was last week. He has a main present for both then smaller ones, the mains being a Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear and a Mini Scalextric :-)0

I dont see that theres anything silly in it, im not in any debt and can afford what i spend on presents and am not judging others on what they spend just contributing to what i thought was a light hearted thread about christmas.
As for the clothes i do get her them all the time of course but got some extra special little things for christmas that were a bit more expensive than usual.0 -
I think a lot of people think that the amount they spend on their child equates to how much they love them. I don't take this view, so I think we've spent £10-£15 on her. She's nearly 4. We are also religious so don't like the commercialisation of Christmas.
We have a large extended family, so she gets a lot of stuff anyway. Even if we weren't form a large family I wouldn't be spending a fortune, even though we could afford it.0 -
DS who is 1 ive spent about £300 on and DD who is 12 weeks old the total is just under £230. Got them both some clothes in that budget too though and had some great bargains from grabbits
Sooo looking forward to christmas this year!
I know this is gonna sound stupid, i'm new here so forgive me please...but what does DS and DD mean?? I can't work it out! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
