    there was a "revision" change to the iphone after the "antennagate" started, but apple has not released any info on the changes in the revision (it's suspected one of the chips was changed to better utilise the phones antenna signals.)

    if you check some of the press reports you'll see people were getting one revision code multiple times before "atennagate"
    and a mix of old and new ones after "atennagate" press conference, with people reporting problem on the older revision.

    probably a coincidence since revision changed happen all the time with hardware, as the manufacturing process is made more efficient or newer version of certain chips are released...
