Fed up with Easy Jet

Isn't that all the more reason to keep the flight costs low? Surely that would ensure that customers keep going back to them. The whole point of me flying with Easyjet is because they're supposed to be a low cost budget airlne.

Airlines are not charitible organisations. They tend to lose money for 6 months a year and make up for it in the other 6 months. The winter is a testing time for low cost carriers and they will make a killing where they can eg half term, christmas etc. That said if you want to travel at these times you can still pick up a bargain if you book early enough. However there are a multitude of people poised to book these up the second the seats are released. Bear also in mind that it is the advent of low cost airlines that have driven the average ticket prices of dinosuars like BA down. 10 years ago a return flight from BFS-LON was about £250. Now the average is closer to £100. 'Full service' carriers are now often cheaper than LCC's at the last minute because they are not as heavily booked based on the public perception that they are usually more expensive.
