They are Bah Humbugs.... you would think airlines would drop prices a bit at christmas as a lot of people visit family & friends abroad.
Why would you think that? If demand increases then surely prices also increase, as otherwise there would be more demand than supply, meaning that flights would all be fully booked and people who really needed to travel wouldn't be able to as the flights would all be sold out.

Personally I think easyjet is fantastic. I have never had any problems with them and find the prices very reasonable. If you book well in advance its always cheaper. I fly from Glasgow to Belfast quite often and usually pay about £40 return and I took my mum to london in the summer and the flights were £85 total for both of us. Cant get any better than that!

Why do people think they have a right to fly for pennies? Why get so indignant about the fact they subsidise their £15 flights by making a profit over the busier periods?

By paying £250 return, which, isn't unreasonable if you remember the prices when BA and Iberia had a monopoly of the routes.

By flying at peak time you're allowing another 8 of us to fly for pennies during off season. Cheers!

Supply and demand, darling. Simple economics.

it really gets me how much they charge just to fly to Spain. I mean come on, we're not exactly talking a million miles away now are we, so why are the prices so high. It's not like´I'm booking at the last minute.

cacharel i think the problem with easyjet especially over christmas is that because of a reduced winter schedule the number of "no flight days" is increased and that means that spaces soon get filled up on the days they do fly to asturias

i believe as easyjet expand their service with new destinations existing services that arent so popular get hit so they can use crews/planes elsewhere

i would also look into flying into another airport like bilbao/santander/vitoria/santiago if you go again because the coach services in spain i have found to be very cheap and an excellent service..i know asturias aint that close to other airports but it might be worth considering when you have a £250 flight instead of £35 by trying other options

Only because you have picked the 4 days between the 12th and the 16th March when something is obviously happening in that part of the world. Flights are £25 either side of the those dates.

Absolutely! That's MIPIM time at Cannes, lots of property buffs chugging champagne and hiring dancing girls....which means they'll pay whatever it takes to get there!

Every now and then I find a good flight deal but mostly I wouldn't expect to fly in Europe for less than £100 and that's even with being careful of popular dates etc.

Nothing is cheap especially when there's demand!

I'm finding that a lot of the 'no-frills' carriers can be quite expensive once you've added in all their charges, such as bags, credit card fees etc. Ryanair is a good example. A friend paid over £400 return for a flight to Bratislava! I could have wept!! Although it was short notice, BA were doing deals to nearby Vienna for over £200 less! I know who I'd rather fly with

i have ZERO sympathy for people who do not their homework , but how stupid do you have to be to pay RYAN DON'T CARE that amount of money !!!!!

i,m a snob when it comes to RYAN and SLEAZY and only travel with them if they are last resort and £100 + cheaper but at least they are driving down the "better" airlines costs. but goes to show " you need to shop around !!!!!"
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Pure supply and demand issue, thats how they can get away with it.
