I'm with Adrian Flux, found them fantastic so far... There's only a couple of companies will insure one of my cars, Flux gave a decent enough price. Have to add some details to that policy now, over the phone they didn't mention any charges...

Same here - well my boyfriend is with Adrian Flux not me. He has a 1974 morris mini with alot of modifications including an upgraded sports engine. Adrian Flux were the cheapest to quote, everything was simple to sort out and when it transpired that my boyfriends previous policy with another company had not actually been earning him no claims, Adrian Flux said it didn't matter and gave him the price that it would have been if he had been earning no claims bonus. Found them excellent so far...
OP it seems like your choices are to stay and pay for career change or find someone else to insure your car/ don't drive it anymore. I don't see how they can make you pay for a change of career if you're cancelling the policy - just seems like you either misunderstood what she was saying and/or her choice of words were ambiguous.
