Tesco Deliveries backlogged

The correct decision probably would have been to stop taking orders anywhere until they had cleared the backlog instead they have only stopped taking orders in Scotland.
I'm still waiting for an order placed on the 3rd of December to be delivered to Poole on the South Coast aside from meaningless assurances that I will get the order before Christmas they don't know where it is or when it will be delivered.

The north and Scotland have had it worse than most places, so why stop taking orders to places they can still provide a service to?Its not like the staff in Landsend can help out the staff in John 'O Groates.
Its a concientious decision to stop taking these orders IMO.It shows they do care about their reputation and don't want to offer a service they know they cannot deliver.

What a total bunch of **********!

Rang customer services again on Sunday to be told a total load of rubbish - weather blah blah backlog blah blah cannot give delivery dates blah blah cannot guarantee before christmas blah blah

I said what would happen if I cancelled and re-ordered and was told "you would go to back of queue, looking at atleast 7 days backlog to clear first".

Decided my original order was never coming so cancelled and re-ordered Sunday (19th just gone).

Guess what arrived today on time (i.e next day delivery!)

Very unhappy to be messed about and the fact that the majority of what I was told was total non-sense!!!!!!!!

    Very very poor customer service.

    ............but you received your order?
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted:)
    I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p
  • Well Tesco delivered our order on Saturday morning (order placed Friday night) in heavy snow and it contained a couple of items we didn't order and weren't on the order manifest. Then, bizarrely, they emailed us to say that we're getting a full refund as they couldn't deliver. Er, !!!!!!?
  • Some people have no empathy at all. Selfish is all I can say

My waitrose order as packed and sent but the lane into our village was too dangerous and so it was cancelled and that was fine as I have no wish to risk the driver`s life

Get real op. Haven`t you got any provisions in your house

If my local fresh food cannot be delivered tomorrow then christmas day will be stew and dumplings. So what!! I have a warm house and a warm bed and I count my blessings during this very harsh winter
  • ............but you received your order?

    No I did not.

I cancelled the original order (which I was advised by Tesco Direct staff not to do as any replacement order would fall behind the current 7 day backlog of orders and therefore would not be received till after christmas).

By taking my own initiative I took the gamble and (as I suspected) my new order was received within the std next day delivery schedule.

All I was told was to sit and wait it out and "maybe" it would arrive for christmas. All this weather problems was total bulls**t and that in my book is poor customer service as they were not attempting to satisfy my order in the best way possible.

I will be writting a letter of complaint.

I was annoyed last night after waiting for my shopping which was due to be delivered between 8 and 10 and it didnt turn up. I rang customer services (waited 30 mins for them to answer) and was told my order had been cancelled. Wouldnt it have been nice if they had thought to tell me.

I was told that the deliveries for the day before had been delivered yesterday (the day after they were due) so Im not sure why my delivery could not have been delivered today. In other words someones delivery had taken my place but they just cancelled mine even though I booked that time at least 3 weeks ago. Weatherwise there would have been no risk to the driver as the road between the branch and my house were clear.

So it was a mishmash for tea tonight, mash potato, ravioli, turkey drummers eggs and a tiny bit of left over bacon - tasted fine though, so am off to Tesco in a bit, hopefully theyve still got some food left. Am a bit disappointed not to have received phone call or email of apology.
