OP ignore f_snowbits, he is constantly on here to cause more upset and to be honest that's not fair when you are feeling so upset over this.
I, as have so many others put questions/posts on here only to be attacked by the few who cannot offer advice but ridicule people.
Good luck in getting your money backLife is a rollercoaster.....ya just gotta ride it:whistle:0 -
I work for Tesco and was a checkout manager for 3 years. If Asda's cash procedures are anything compared to ours I would ask for another till check and a history of the till checks for that week. The till could have been £45 short before you got there, in which case after you left it would have been 'bang on'. Tills only reset to short or over on a Monday at the start of a week however they will be counted before trade each morning and at intervals during the day.
I think it's a bit much for some to be making the assumption that the money was stolen by the cashier. Yes it does happen but there is no evidence of this. My advice would be to contact Asda customer service and explain what happened including the checkout manager not getting back to you when he said he would - twice. £45 is a lot of money and I certainly would have put this at the top of my priorities for the day.
I worked at Asda for 3 years and I have to say the tills were regularly way out from what they should have been at the end of the day (tbh the most used tills were plus or minus £70-£100 frequently).
Cashiers would regularly 'lend' money to and from tills to cover customer's cashback and then forget about it. A lot of the procedures were silly though especially only leaving a £50 float in each till overnight. Of course then in the morning the first 5 customers all want £50 cashback!!0 -

the checkout manager was supposed to ring me Sunday after he had spoken to the till operator who served me... and surprise surprise no response from them. I spoken to the police again a different station and they dont seem tio want to help due to the lack of evidence..
I was gonna go into the asda concerned yesterday to see as to why he hasn't rang me back, but i dont see any point when it comes to customer service surely in such a matter as this he should of rang me back to keep me informed.
I refuse to step foot in that asda's store again and i wont even waste my time in phoning them. Im in the middle of compiling a letter requesting a full investigation just gotta work out who it would be best sending it to now.
thanks for all your help everyone who has commented0 -
