asda ripped off

I'd try the police again, tell them that as the till was correct you can only assume the the check out operator stole your cash and you want it investigated. Tell them that it would be ridiculous to spend just £5 in cash and the rest on credit card. Make sure you tell Asda first though as it may make them investigate harder.
thanks i will do that going to put my letter together later on this evening, i will try a different police station also0 -
Its pretty much certain as long as the information is correct in the OP either the cashier or the person who cashed up the till at the end of the day has stolen it, I'm more inclined towards the person cashing the till as the checkout staff member is bound to get the blame and it is really easy to either add an extra 0 or miss one accidentally, I don't know asda's cashing up procedure so not sure when someone would of checked that till before you went in this morning or last night, I'm surprised not all checkouts are covered by CCTV though.0

As with the poster above I would suspect the person cashing up the till would have more opportunity to 'pocket' the extra £45 if thats whats happened. I have never seen a till cashed up on the shop floor in ASDA so assume this is done back office, surely with the large sums of money in each till this must be done under CCTV?? Perhaps worth asking ASDA about this - would be strange if they didn't have CCTV in the cash office, think of the volume of money going through there on a daily basis. I really hope you get your money back, it's a horrible thing to happen - especially at this time of year! (and I would be crying too!!)0

I do feel for you but the police will not be interested, there's no chance whatsoever this will be classed as a crime. Good luck though, I'd stand your ground.
I'd say this is definately a crime, the checkout operator would have deliberately took an extra £45 in cash. To do this they would of had to ignore the instructions from the till. It could also be a joint venture with the checkout operator and the cash office.
jaimem, ignore the Snowbits character he is one of a few on here who likes to stir. I will report his post and I suggest you do the same.0 -

That's quite an allegation considering that there is no evidence.0 -
its a life lesson to always have your wits about you when handling your own money, treat it better and it wont leave for someone else!
However, i fully believe that an asda employeee would rip you off like this, thats ASDA price.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -

thanks i came on here for advice as i feel i had no where to turn and for someone to start being nasty to me on here made me feel even sh##er! karma!!!
i know its a crime but i dont have any evidence my word against asdas, i know though im right as it was my money may of only been 45 quid but i work all month to earn my money , no one has the right to do me out of any money. the police were understanding yesterday but wasnt interested as all the eveidence is with asda, nothing on camera, no money extra in till.. oh but the checkout manager is going to speak to the guy who searved me today!! whoppie do what will that do ? sod all i dont even want to answer the phone call from teh checkout manager today as i know its gonna make me even more angry. i dont just want to drop this as i feel no one should get away with what has gone one.. this could be happening all the time for all i know. I will write a letter to head office, im not expecting my money back but it would make me feel better at least making others aware of what has happened, even if its to prevent it from happening again to someone more vulnerable than me.
thanks for alll the comments apart from the loser who deems to judge people , of which his judgments couldnt be far from the truth.
i have learned my lesson big time maybe i was just to trusting! never again x0 -

Ooops, forgot this is a post about ASDA and only benefit cheats and CHAVS shop there, so in essence, what has been previously handed out by the tax payer to the urchins has finally made it back to the publics purse, via a till at ASDA
I hope you never make a mistake! The OP seems to be looking for helpful advise, not sarcasm!0 -
I would urge everyone to check their till receipts whilst still in the shop if at all possible. There are a few dishonest cashiers who have latched on to this scam and pocketing the money themselves, hence the till is never 'over'. This also applies when you get Cashback, make sure you check your receipt as sometimes they will put x amount of cashback you have not had!You live..You learn.:)0
