Tracker working, got some Bonus Miles.:)

Everything green except I got a yellow flag for driving in the rush hour 17:00 ~ 18:00!? Would have got more miles if I avoided 5 to 6pm!
If I had a 9 to 5 office job I would be somewhat upset.
As it is, I usually avoid the rush hours (morning and evening) because I prefer not to waste my time and fuel sitting in traffic jams.

Glad it's working out for you, looks like these policies are going to be very common soon.

!!!!!! @ 5pm-6pm thing - is that stated in the terms?

I did a quote for this and it came back £1000 MORE than my current policy with Admiral. I didn't like the thought of all the restrictions it comes with either... I want to be able to drive my car when and where I like without being penalised for being out during rush hour.

I'm not sure how not driving during rush hour makes someone a better driver (or not driving after sun down) ?

It wasn't clear how they score, before I signed up,
but now that the tracker is working, it's showing up on my account.

This is the summary on the Bonus Mile page.

"Calling good drivers! We will give you up to 100 Bonus Miles every month for safe driving - that's up to 1,200 miles a year!

    We look at:

The time of day you drive
The speed you drive at on different sorts of road
    How smoothly you drive
If you take breaks on long journeys
    Your motorway miles
See how many miles you can earn by careful driving."

    Clicking on info gives this:

    "Time of day

You do sometimes drive at high-risk times of day. More accidents happen during the evening rush hour (5 - 6pm) and after 9pm (especially between 11pm and 4am). If you can avoid these times of day you will earn more Bonus Miles."

    They like motorway miles.
If I was a sales rep that does 30,000 miles a year,
    I wouldn't be on a 6,000 mile policy, would I?

A1-M25-A10 or A406. The road works near Southgate makes the North Circular unviable, so M25 would be worth considering.

How does it work if someone else uses your car under their own policy? Do you have to ring up and tell them that the person going round corners at 90mph isn't you?

That was one of the reasons i did not use them, My sisters car broke down and she used my car for her caravan holiday.

    Almost 2000 miles.....

"More accidents happen after 9pm" - yes, if you're doing the whole "watch this!" thing on a B-road, not if you're making a long motorway journey when it's quiet :(

The online portal was stuck for seven months, with no data update from December 2011 to June 2012. I was chasing them for three months, and then gave up. Strange thing is, I chased again end of June, and there was a fresh web page design with updated data again.

They rolled over a small number of bonus miles from 2011 policy year, with nearly 700 miles MISSING. They say they know that they owe me these miles, so I wouldn't be charged if I do go over. Oh really? The computer that automatically charges my credit card when I go over WILL NOT do so, despite not knowing the extra miles not showing on my account?

It's unlikely that I will go over 6,000 miles, though.

    Was it worth the savings?

Personally to me it would be a nightmare dealing with a company like that.

Nightmare? Missing bonus miles that I probably won't use is peanuts.

Try a ten year subsidence claim with a well known "reputable" firm, who were !!!!! footing like the best of them to delay the underpinning for about 8 years.

The previous car insurance company was Quinn, which went into administration half way through the policy! Aviva wanted around £1,000 a year in premium, Swiftcover (Axa) £800, Admiral £520.
What would you suggest? Pay £500 more for Aviva?
