Hi Superwoman

Me too, it was weird first month when we had some money left over after bills wondering what to do with it!!!Mortgage Balance10 August 2011 £238863.97:eek:Aim: £220500 @ 10/08/120

Lightbulb moment: Christmas 2009
Debts at highest: £45,000
Debt-Free Date: 11th August 2011
Pearl of wisdom: Sleep on it. If you are thinking of spending on an item (that is not essential) sleep on it, wait 24hrs and interestingly the urge lessens and I found the need for it passed. Also, getting my bank to text me my balance every Friday stopped me spending at weekends. Finally (I know, more than one pearl) tell your partner the WHOLE truth!
Thank you MSE my most used site! xxx:):)

Debts at their highest 11,000
Debt-Free Date 28th August 2011
Your one perl of wisdom. If you want to buy something wait a week, I am sure most of the need will be gone by then. Plus using a spending diary write down everything you spend.
And if you had a debt diary on DFW, a link to it

a. The date of your lightbulb moment 23rd August 2005
b. Debts at their highest Circa £22k
c. Debt-Free Date 26th August 2011
d. Your one perl of wisdom.
As has been echoed many times in this thread, whenever you are in a shopping situation whether it be sat in front of the computer or in a shop, always ask yourself if you REALLY need it! even if you're sure you 100% need it, always leave it for a day or more and take stock of whether you really do need it
Make sure you keep track of all your finances, know what is coming in and what is going out and plan properly for the month ahead. check your accounts online and make sure there are no unforeseen bills that you had forgotten or not expected to come out.
Ultimately it is only you that can keep track and maintain/manage your debt, it may seem like paying your debt off will never end, but when it does it's the best feeling knowing you owe nobody!
Good Luck0 -
