Dear All,
With the help of my share save, I managed to clear all my debt by November this year. I paid off over £30k this year, I am officially debt free and also have a substantial pot of savings towards the deposit of our house. it was really hard, but I did it.
Thank you for all the support on these boards, I still want to carry on the no spend days as they really helped me so, please let me be an honorary member of NSD as I really love this section of the forums.
Keep at it, you'll get there
Leanne

Hello!
I'm a long time lurker of the forum, but new to posting (part of my 2015 resolution to be more pro-active in saving money!)
2014 was a HUGE year for us as we we became mortgage free in February, making the final payment of our £63K mortgage 8 years and 9 months early :j
We are also debt free having repaid in full an unofficial loan from our savings account. No other debts, loans, credit cards etc - all have been repaid in full so our only outgoings are the regular monthly bills which I am trying to reduce!
My aim for 2015 is to put by £10000.
Happy New Year everyone!

Hi all,
I'm just a lurker on this thread and read the first thread back in 2006. Since then I've been out of the country but decided to drop back into MSE and saw this thread was still going. I was nearly in tears the first time I read the thread back in 2006 and was so impressed with how people were tackling their debts and their spending habits.
I am still impressed.
So a really big CONGRATULATIONS to everyone on the Debt Free Roll of Honour, you really deserve it.
To those still tackling their debts, I'm sure you will get there. Being on this thread is the first and best step and with luck and perseverance next year may be your year.
Here's to a prosperous 2015 for us all :-)Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Delighted to be entering 2015 debt free (other than our mortgage). Had £7k+ on credit cards at the worst point. Cut up the card and stuck to using cash or debit card along with a proper budget. Just requires more discipline to save for things you NEED rather than flashing the plastic for stuff you just WANT.
