blood? Cash? Sperm?
It sounds like from her point of view, your moving to work in Germany meant you two moving on...
Well - in that case she should have done the honorable thing and stopped taking his money.
It was his understanding that he was only staying away temporarily - for work reasons - and would be coming back again when the job finished. He wouldnt have continued giving her money if he had thought the relationship was over.
She HAS done the dirty on him no doubt. The question is what he is going to do about it..
Well - in his position - I would be asking her for the money back that I had handed over whilst in Germany. The request would be accompanied by the comment that "That will be the end of the matter - PROVIDED I get my money back. But if I DONT get my money back then...........".
In his position I would take the fact that she had taken my name off the Electoral Register as meaning she regarded herself as single - fine..so be it...then manage on a single persons income from that point onwards then lady...0 -
As you clearly state, he was a partner and therefore it was fraud to claim as a single person. She should have declared her partner and then it would be a joint claim.
So yes OP, she is guilty of fraud if all you say is correct.
Whether or not you report her is up to you but I think you should tbh.
I disagree with this TBH. The woman complete a form correctly asking what adults over the age os 18 were resident at her property at that time. I don't think she has done anything wrong. The form doesn't ask if you are in a relationship, have a partner living elsewhere just who lives with you. The OP was living in Germany at the time so didn't live with her.
AFAIK if you live in the UK and your partner/husband/wife is in the forces based abroad you are entitled to claim the 25% reduction in council tax if you are the only adult resident of the property.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

There are two separate issues: council tax, and entitlement to vote. It would have been possible for her to have included him on the electoral register and then to have claimed council tax discount on the grounds that while it was his registered address, he wasn't actually living there.
Anyway, he should contact the electoral registration officer to ask whether the error can be corrected. And so far as I know, companies only search the current electoral register to see if someone lives where they say they live, and rely on things like credit card accounts to know about the person's address history.0 -

Wrong! Yes, she had a partner but her partner lived in another country! Lots of people in the year 2010 have partners in USA, Australia, etc..lot's of people call boyfriends partners! He lived abroad, not with her. You are so wrong and your continued suggestion to him that he report her for fraud says a lot about you!0 -

They were a couple in every sense of the word but she has failed to declare him on benefit forms - that is fraud. Boyfriends don't share a house and send money home to support their OH - it is different. The telling thing here is the OP considers this a long term partnership.
Lots of people work away but only dishonest ones claim single person benefits while living as a couple financially.
Dress it up as you like but she was not entitled to claim council tax benefit. Me saying to report shows I know right from wrong and dislike thieves. I don't consider that a bad thing tbh but you clearly have less honourable standards.0 -

I have extremely high honorable standards, but I am also fair! Her OH may have considered they were 'living together' but it is clear to me that she did not.
Anyway, I am tired of arguing with you, you are so set in your idea that she is commuting fraud, I am sure you will try madly to get the OP to report her. Thankfully, when they investigate it, they will agree that if he is out of the country and they are not living together, she has committed no fraud nor sin. Poor girl, she seems better off without him if you ask me.
Anyway, on you go with your attacks of me and her....i've got better things to do than argue with you. I have given my opinion of which I am entitled to do. Its up to him if he does the decent thing or not. Spite and bitterness makes many do bad things, that are not fair or just.0 -

You are right but those couples declare themselves as in a relationship and the allowance is given based on the length of time they spend abroad etc. It's not a blanket policy that partners of servicemen/women
get that discount.
This woman deliberately hid the fact she had a partner. That is a lie because she did and he was supporting her.
If the partner of someone in the services denied they had a partner on the form, they would also be lying. It matters not that they may be entitled to it anyway - fact is they would have made a false declaration.
I'm not talking about the electoral roll as that's between the couple tbh and I don't know whether she was right or wrong with that anyway.
My guess is that removing him in order to claim benefits as a single person shows intent to commit fraud.0 -

Attacks...? Are we reading the same thread?
We all have a duty to report potential fraud - that is the right and fair thing to do. It's public money after all.0 -

My girlfriend(almost ex) received a letter form council,on it says i am a sub-tenant ! I spoke to them saying i lodge at hers, but it wasn't me claiming council tax benefits.
My assumption is she hid that fact that i am in relationship since day i moved in and by removing me from the roll meant she has officially ended the relationship.
My donation of 500 a month was never mentioned to the council,or she would have lost her reduction..
I wont report her but feel i have been taught a harsh lesson.0 -

Better off without me? Actually her house would have been repossessed if it wasn't for me ,her own family didn't give her one penny.I paid rent in Germany and 500 for her. While i worked here i gave her 300 a month yet she still took council tax benefits.
It seems you stand up on behalf of women here.0
