What's the point of showing something that no longer reflects the current situation e.g. exchange rates, recession etc?
I think you are missing the point.
They are not meant to be Educational/Documentary/Factual programs.
They are light entertainment programs.
You'll be complaining that Harry Potter doesn't reflect the real situation in the world of wizardry next 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

The point is to keep "the message" in people`s minds.
Old property !!!!!! programmes can be quite misleading, tune in 5 minutes into the show, watch for 15 minutes, then change channel. What did you see ? Property bought for £156K, lick of paint and a few new windows, now valued at or sold for £220K. Total spend £17k, profit £47k. Blimey, that sounds good, maybe things aren`t so bad after all. If you watched the end of the programme, you might have seen the message - filmed in 2007.
I remember one or two programmes that were broadcast in the late 90's, based of share investment. This was done at a time when the dot com boom was taking place. hen shares tanked in the early part of the new millenium, these shows vanished, they weren`t repeated, or new shows made, because it was obvious that shares weren`t such a safe investment. The property market is mostly less volatile than the stock market, and broadcasters can "get away" with showing recordings which aren`t up to date.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. I`d say they are also adverts for the property market.
You can`t tell me that a fair few casual viewers of property !!!!!! shows won't be influenced by what they see. Ibet many an amateur property investor has been inspired or persauded to invest in property after seeing the quite large number of programmes based on the subject of buying/selling property.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. As if these programmes made any difference whatsoever. Unless there was ever advice that you should MEW as much as you fancy and always pay over the asking price.
The amount of vitriol aimed at these people is outstanding. Usual suspects though I see.0 -

I have to disagree.
The huge number of posters who appear to have fallen for their tosh, hook line and sinker appear to be forming a disorderly queue to dream up new and exotic ways to punish them. You can`t tell me that a fair few casual viewers of property !!!!!! shows won't be influenced by what they see
I feel sorry for you if you were influenced. But you should really form your own ideas, not rely on a couple of TV presenters.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
