Seems cheaper than ebay with there being no Paypal fees?

    Interesting week.
    • Two emails, one from the US, one from Australia claiming that eBay purchases hadn't turned up. As soon as I referred to paperwork and suggested I take up the issue with Royal Mail they shut up and went away.
    • Set up a shop on Etsy end of January and had my first sale on Thursday - £11 not much but it's a start
    • Sold a book on Amazon yesterday
    • Worked through the loft and took some items to an Auction House yesterday. Auction on Wednesday - probably only about £40-£50 but should be interesting

Thanks for the heads up Gracie - link now added!

I sell photographs, collages and ACEOs, it's totally different to the day job but something I promised myself I'd try this year.

I also have a second shop on Etsy that sells vintage items, that's been ticking over for about a year now.

Just had a look at your photos - excellent work!

£21 won on bingo which will go in the pot. Apart from that not much else to report but the change pots are not forgotten and I keep plugging away at the surveys.

Will update my signature when more cash reaches my account

    Here's to a prosperous week!

    Hi:wave: Skintb
    How are you hun?

Checked the website and we are not entitled to anything because I was on good money until the end of July which tips me over the limit for 2010/2011 tax year.

Made £36.05 at the car boot which is fab as it was packed with sellers and loads got turned away

Just had a neighbour knock on my door asking if I was interested in cleaning for her for the next eight weeks ( I used to do cleaning years ago) so that's £40 a week for the next 2 months and also if I want to do her ironing then that's another £10 yay:j:j:j:j

I have been applying to the cleaning agencies for work but as I hadn't been a cleaner for 8 years they didn't want me...... I don't need them... but long term she said she would be happy to give me a reference.. so I will give it a week or so and get some leaflets printed off and wander around the hamlets and see if anyone wants some work.

brilliant news TH - funny how things come out of the blue. i would set up you own cleaning business, why let somebody else get the credit and a cut of the money! see what funding is available for setting up as i know in our area there are schemes who would help with insurance, equipment etc. also if you are going to turn it into a growing enterprise Inland Revenue run workshops so you know what you can claim.
as for the tax credits apply again in April as you can also use what will be the current tax year (2011/2012),

i used to do ironing and charged £10 per stone (12 years ago) that included pick up and delivery - have pm'd you what i called it feel free to use it. loved it when they put sheets in as they weighed a lot and learned the trick of putting them in the tumble drier with a wet towel before i started!

cakes doing well have a busy weekend next weekend so will be baking and cooking all this week, have also started doing curds and marmalades, also have a local restaurant pushing the cakes, delivered a kids one yesterday and whole bunch of folk in with their kids thought it was brilliant and took my business cards and were looking at my album when i left, also in discussion with a local tearoom that doesnt open for a couple of weeks yet but not sure if that one will come off - hopefully she'll at least take the curds, marmalades and homemade tablet. so things not looking too bad in skintcity,
can relate to the 15yroDD - mine has a party next week and we had to look for something for her to wear today(she doesnt go out much), and her friends families are all quite well off (or they make out they are) so had to explain to her too that i couldn't afford the stuff she would really like, thankfully there was no tantrums. think more people are struggling than letting on though DS's friend was going round with clingfilm on his sock so the rain wouldnt get through the hole in his sole, (his mum was the one who got dressed up for sports day, parasol the lot!) got DS to offer him a pair of his NIKE trainers he no longer wears as they are too small, even although cant stand the mother couldnt see the lad going round like that.
well better get school stuff and work clothes ready for tomorrow - going to walk to and from work this week if the weather is decent enough so that should save about £15, pity it takes 40mins rather than 7 in the car!

Jo give me a txt - have noticed you've not posted in a wee while.

take care everyone - have a good week
