wilf last year most of my extra money made until may/june was used to keep us afloat until house sold ,i still counted the money as challenge money although i had used it ,to be honest i think most of us did ,i'm hoping to have some shiney coins in the bank this year but as martin says you will never earn enough interest on savings to cover interset on debt so if you have any debt use your savings to get rid think he says it more fluently than that ,and from what i gather thats what happened to most of the dribblers last year .
good luck with keeping afloat though try the frugal thread and old fashioned my shopping budget is doing well on those
So finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x
  • Hello!

I didnt get to post yesterday as my laptop cable broke and i had to get a new one :( I set aside £50 for a new one but got it for £30 so £20 went in the pot! I had another £10 sale on ebay last night and it looks like i will have another £50 or so at the weekend. Quidco are finally going to pay me the grand sum of....wait for it....£2.63! Its a start and every penny counts ;)

Ive had £160 clear from paypal into my new 'virtual' pot today :D So now that i know that account does accept paypal payments,im sticking to sunday being my day for ebay sales to finish and then once the fees, etc have been paid, i will bank the money straight away to stop myself from spending it!

Im off to apply for some jobs...have a good day!
    ;)

    Afternoon everyone!

    I am £300 with a further £30 pending.

DH and I listed loads of stuff on Sunday unfortunately due to a powercut we could not list everything but we have £12 worth of bids and hopefully this should go up on Sunday, I would love to make £100 after fees from that lot.

The gas/elec bill came and is now £120 a month yikes!! Needless to say the heating is off and the log burner is on. £90 of that is gas so that is terrible.

Good luck with the job hunting ss nurse and fingers crossed for everyone else on the challenge

  • Evening all, seems we are all trying to sell on ebay etc at the moment :D Got 5 watchers on the only item that is selling at the moment but I am hoping over the weekend we might get more interest on other items.

Sold another item on Amazon today which was a nice surprise and makes 5 things since saturday!

Have sadly spent more on the food budget this week than I hoped to, but still about £20 less than a usual week so not too bad but will try harder next week.

How do I do one of those things at the bottom of my message to say how much I have made so far please?

I'm guessing you are tied into a contract? Can you change suppliers soon? I just did mine yesterday and £62 has tracked with tcb. Bill should go down 15% too. :)

    Hi Everyone,
I am still working hard to earn extra cash. I have sold about £100 worth of stuff so far on EBAY and another book on AMAZON for £10. I used an online offer at TESCO to have three deliveries by the 15th February. Then I would get a bonus of 1,000 points which means when traded in another £30 off a holiday next year. I am keeping all my old stuff for a car boot sale in the Spring.
I wish I had some good ideas for starting up a business I could work on at home! I am going to keep thinking. I am going to trade in an old premium bond. Then look for more stuff I can sell.
I am trying to keep my food bills down and stop wasting food. Also, I have joined the £100 clothes challenge. I really enjoy reading about other people trying to raise this incredible £11,000 sum. With my husband pay rise and all my bits and pieces I think we have raised about 1,800. I am coumting all the special offers and extra savings I can.
    Good luck everyone
