Right, it looks like Mr Pie might be taking the redundancy, so we will be working from home...together! EEK.
I posted off a leaflet stand that a friend bought from me today - that's £3 profit, and did a mystery shop for £10 - it's a start! I also had a long phone conversation with my Usborne divisonal leader about how I can go one rung up on the ladder, so now I have the plan in place, I just need to do itMy first promotion was pretty easy though, so shouldn't be too hard. (Famous last words?)
Goal = £9,000 in 2011, starting in March
Current total - £779 banked by 09/04/11
Also growing, scrimping and crafting to not need as much in the first place!0 -
Hello everyone. I thought I should probably stop lurking around and join you! I've been watching this thread since it started. I've been getting involved too - my January total was £134.26, boosted greatly because wepromiseto finally paid up. Not sure about reaching 11k but i'll give it a go. Very much needed too - redundancy is looking very likely. Thank you all for your help and ideas over the past month or so and i hope I can repay you with some of my own.0

Aww bad news about my pension. (Background info - they forgot to send the form in so the £23.10 I've paid for 24 months has gone nowhere but their own savings account!) When I opted into the scheme it was on the basis of being matched by the employer. So now that I found out about it they want to just pay me the money I put in and they wont give me the money they were supposed to match it with. The amount I've put towards is £554.40 but they won't let me have the £309.50 that they should have paid. Now I'm in the predicament do I fight for it, or do I walk away with the £554.40. Think I'm going to write a grievance letter and see what happens and also try and get a free 30min consultation with a solicitor to see if I have any grounds to stand on in a no win no fee case.
If anyone has any advice on what they think I should do I would love to hear it. I can see this getting stressful.0 -
Hi nod and butterpie have fun and enjoy making the challenge your own .
I've had an interesting week so far .I have bid on some oil painting which i got reasonably cheap however in a dilemma whether to hang them in my bare hall or answer an advert in gumtree for paintings.
i have started checking the wanted ads in gumtree to see if anyone is looking for my junk before i ebay bootsale or freecycle it .have a pair of 90x90 curtains that someone is now picking up for £15.
that pays for my paintings whoohoo .so if the other guy wants them its pure profitSo finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x0 -
fredula can i ask who you work for ,at the very least they should give you interest on the money.oh says you ned legal advice as you should have paid income tax on it if it hasnt been used for pension oh says he will email his hr dept for you if you wantSo finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x0

It's a company called Castaways owned by a Church.
That would be lovely if he could. Thanks! The letter states "We can refund the deductions which we have made from your pay which total £554.40 (24 deductions of £23.10) - which do not need to go through the payroll as they have already been included in your pay and have had tax deducted."
^ In that statement I'm slightly confused because I thought that you didn't pay tax on your pension contributions. Maybe I'm wrong. Does anyone know if that's right?0 -
the thing is fredula you will not only be losing the employers contributions but the two years of saving towards your pension which will probably now be 3 times that amount hubby will email tomorrow advice dont take the money fight it .are you in a union if not might be time to joinSo finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x0
-
