So will interest rate rises have very little impact?

I've had a think and I know a couple of 21-22 year old lads who are still at home but I don't think I know any mid 20s who are still with their parents? I did go out with a 27 year old girl a few years back who still lived at home. She ended up wanting to spend every night at mine, which did my head in and was one of the main reasons I ended it.
  • That one made me laugh. Had to rep you for that. I was 26 a couple of years ago. Very much a mentality where I come from that you move out early. 20-21 considered quite old to be still at home.

Some of the looks I got in my last job back home when I said I still lived with my parents were priceless.

Live and Work in London now, so the memories are starting to drift away.

I can see why you moved now, not a nice place to work!

Guess we must live in different areas then, amazing how perceptions change as you move between counties!

Buy now? Why I have a large amount of cash but you think i'm gonna buy a house whilst prices are continuing to fall each month and whilst interest rates can only go up! I live at home rent free so why rush :)

No I don't flip burgers, to be honest I can't cook, thank God for parents cooking, you really appreciate it when you come back from uni!

So mum cooks for you, does she iron your work shirts and make you a packed lunch every day as well? ;)

She doesn't have you never heard of easy iron shirts? Your missing out!

Why should I have a packed lunch when I have plenty of disposible income to buy nice lunches, somebody jelous :)

You are definitely right there. In Yorkshire, you are considered less of a man if you still live with your parents in your twenties. Same if you don't have a car.

Most young lads will have their cars bought on finance though.

Disposible income? I thought you were saving for a deposit, make up your mind man!

I'm not jealous, I'm 34 so most likely earn more than you, although yes when I was 26 I did make my own lunch to save money to spend on other things (beer mainly).

I have a selection of 'easy iron' and 'non iron' shirts, and believe me they all need ironing unless you want to go to work looking like a student on work placement.

I can't see why it really matters?

I know a 37 year old who still lives at home. He's moved out a couple of times, but lost everything to women both times. He's back at home now and has been for 3 years, while he builds himself back up financially.

Works for both him and his now elderly parents.

It seems the issue is with you, rather than those living with parents, especially if your getting rid of people who want to be with you because they live with their parents.

Yup totally agree, I know even older people still at home!

I help my parents out around the house and like wise with the girl friends parents, don't really understand why people have an issue with this. I must be a late bloomer!

I'm older and I'm at home!

This seems to contradict with your signature, what's the deal there?
