Er...it's just starting up...they are establishing what normal demand will be.

There were plenty of decent items at keen prices.

Totally agree - Many of us got some fantastic items for next to nothing, People seem suprised that the site has so many OOS now after its been advertised on many forums and sent out in the MSE newsletter!

How can you tell what the demand will be if you do not have your items available for sale? They are not available on pre-order, or no 'tell me when this has arrived' button they are just 'unavailable'. Why not 'hide' the items that people cannot buy so it actually looks like you have some stock?

Doesn't feel right to me. If this is a major supplier to Morrisons then they should have more stock than they do.

I don't buy into your logic.

In these times, cashflow is king.

So: don't hold 'lazy' stock but do often sell out of items then re-stock fast, pay your suppliers more slowly than you get the cash in from your consumers.

    That's the key.

I think Morrisons has stripped them bare this week too - All chart CDs are on offer at 2 for £15 and all chart DVDs at 2 for £18, They obviously have to make sure one of their biggest customers has stock aswell as their own website.

I guess they didn't realise offering £5 off would crash their website and clear them of all the stock they had:rotfl:

  • Another reason for many out-of-stock items maybe the fact they're not used to demand for old items, which supermarkets don't stock, but that you'd expect an online retailer like Play or Amazon to.

Their limited catalogue and high prices on many items don't lead to me think they'll be garnering much of the market anytime soon.

They have to start somewere though, and with a free £5 voucher off anything its no wonder that most of the cheaper items are out of stock. Its like this on most websites when they release a code like this.
Maybe they dont have the staff to keep with demand. They have all these extra orders to package and despatch and then they need more staff to sit and update stock levels and sort out the website. They may be just leaving the products on their website (as out of stock) for now to save time and to ensure all of our orders are processed asap.

Does anyone know where this code originally came from?

    started on i believe http://www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers/5-discount-on-anything-using-vouche/820597

    then made it here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/discount-voucher-codes

also all the people moaning out of stock what you think was going to happen with cheap items? always was, its on all week this code just have to take your chance like everyone else bit like agent smith in the matrix "me me me" well either wait for in stock or don't bother simple as that preferably don't more for people not copping a squin! the moaners are getting on my wick and I'm sure there others out there in agreement and I'm not the only one.
I personally ordered a game Sunday night and they haven't dispatched yet you don't see me jumping up and down like a lemon they are very very busy probably where not expecting the demand they are getting and my game was supposed to be in stock! it will get kicked out in the next few days.

also to the lot saying its a dodgy company it supply's sainsburys and now looks like morrisions as well. yes the site needs more developing which will happen over time and if that still does satisfy you then go buy elsewhere more stock for the moaners to shut up

    many thanks

p.s. you may leave your thanks below this post :D
  • The one word of caution I'd add is about the safe shopping "Internet Shopping is Safe" & "Internet Delivery Is Safe" images in their site's signature. I can't find any evidence that Bee.com nor their parent company are actually accredited by IMRG for ISIS OR IDIS. I assume it's something they didn't quite get done before they launched.

I've ordered before and the item was delivered fine and I'm sure it will be again. The site seems legitimate to me.
  • Aargh! has anyone else who has been getting "invalid voucher code" been typing in "FREEBEES" as in ending in "S" as opposed to the correct code, "FREEBEE5" as in ending in Five? I have... obviously I've been staring at a screen too long, or maybe I need to ask for glasses for Xmas!

Could have got Shrek 4 yesterday before it was OOS and 9.99 not 12.99 - the one that got away, but got some great pressies from grabbit so far, I'll live - so I ordered "Gabriel" instead at 0.99 after discount applied...hope this helps someone.
