finally done on of those Asda till receipt checks and have a voucher for £1.72, better than a kick in the teeth. Can't find the printer cables though after shoving everything away in the tidying up hurry. I've done a screen print which i hope works when i can finally find the cables or can send to work to do there. Going to see if i can find any other receipts in my bag :)

i feel like today is a day when things in my head have changed.
I had a friend round this morning whilst Mr LT was at work and we had a lovely catch up. We were both saying and agreeing that our lives have become very insular in our lives. We don't really go out anywhere with our respective partners and our individual group of friends is getting smaller and smaller. I think because i've been fighting to get rid of this debt i've contracted what i do in my life so i don't spend too much money etc so i often end up doing nothing.
anyway my friend was talking about how she's going to start a dressmaking course next month and i'm thinking of going along with her. I've made clothes for myself on and off since i was 18 (a long time now) but i have a weird body shape and seem to throw out more than i ever complete and what i do complete is not often not much more than basic. Anyway this course teaches you about the couture (sp??) parts and you start by making a toile so that you have something that fits you and your shape. I'm going to have a think about it because i don't want it to be another one of those things i decide to do in haste and then never follow through on.

trouble is my heart is telling me that it may just be another one of 'those' things. If the house goes through then i'm going to need all my time and energy on getting it looking beautiful. But i also want to expand my horizons again.
I think i may also be working some other decision through in my head as well. One which will be expensive but also very life changing.

It sounds brilliant, it's something I'd like to do, and I know exactly what you mean about becoming insular due to money saving!

Even with the house-related business you will need an evening off ;)

Don't neglect making yourself look nice to focus on make "things" look nice.

i'm never going to look nice, it's very hard to get an elephant to look anything other than a wrinkly elephant (and i they're my favouritest animals!)
i think what i've always promised myself i would learn next is the piano, just need to find a tutor who isn't so expensive, has the patience of a saint and can get my head around reading music again. Unfortuantely it's not something which you do in groups so not a great way of building more friendships. But it is something i'd really like to do.

Of course you can look nice, just let your personality show in your clothes etc and you will look how you seem (i.e. lovely) IYSWIM? :)

Of course you are. "Nice" is not an expression of degrees of anorexia - it is an expression of self-belief and personality.

The parable of the blind men and the elephant illustrates they can be anything - but you. You're not a wrinkly elephant... :naughty:
