got a call back from the window man, and he's knocked some more off the price. Not a huge amount but it all helps. He's coming tomorrow to fill out the paper work, hope they can fit asap. He did suggest last week that there was a 4 week turn around, i'm hoping people won't be wanting gaping holes in their homes and we don't have to wait so long.

i had to be talked through it a couple of times before i rang and even then i probably caved too early, but i was happy with their original quote so a small discount is a bonus.

biggest challenge at the moment is to keep warm at home.

not sure what it's doing outside, don't think it's anywhere as cold as that, but when i go home it was 11 in the living room, it's now upto 15. It's officially too cold to work (if i was in an office that is)

Hi I hope you dont mind me buttting in but you are absolutely doing the right thing re your windows. I would freeze if my lounge was only 15c. I used to live in an old house but bless our nice relatively modern home every winter.
Have you heard when they can be fitted.

Hurrah - I will cross my fingers for speedy fitting to be arranged.

Oh, and you've inspired me AGAIN - just contacted the electrician to ask him to take a look at the price for the heater! Definitely going for it! :D

yay! you're going to get heat EH you lucky booger!

when we spoke to the guy on friday he said about 4 weeks, i'm thinking of offering cake to try and get it done quicker than that. Certainly know that offering 'other' favours would get us nowhere so cake it will be lol

Just wanted to say Hi LT, cake sounds lovely. I made a chocolate nigella one on sunday which was FULL of calories but so rich you only needed a teenie slice. it all went within 24 hours though :rotfl:darn kids!

been following your double glazing thoughts on Pippi's thread and think you're doing the right thing. i'm sick of this cold!
