Are o2 retentions rubbish these days?

but it would be good to get a little eomething extra to what they offer a new customer.
But be realistic, they already know your habits, a new customer might be someone who is a sucker and might overspend. Orange will give me absolutely nothing because I've gone from spending maybe £60-80 a month on a £35 contract to never going over by a penny of my £15 rolling one month sim only deal.0 -
Well I'm unable to renew anything at the moment because o2 are operating an 'emergency only' service due to the weather and have been since yesterday evening. Is their call centre in the Outer Hebrides? I'm sure the woman I spoke to yesterday was Scouse.
So anyway, the concensus is basically to roll over and take whatever o2 offer me? Ho hum.0 -

They're the same things, however you word it.
I am pretty realistic. Been paying £30 for years then £6.66 on average (+ my overspends) for 18 months. I didn't even ask for that discount last time - they just offered me it. So, I'm happy (ish) to go up to paying £15 a month without getting a new phone and happy to sign up for a new term but don't want fewer minutes than I already had. Not too much to ask when I never got many anyway.0 -

I think it's only the last six to twelve months that count?0 -
You're probably right. I'm a victim of my own success!0

I'm the same; I rang orange retentions on Saturday and I thought the woman at orange was having a funny turn when she upped my minutes to 1000 when I said I was going to Tesco, there wasn't even a discussion, she just did it (I pay £15 a month and never go over). Now I need to up my usage to make sure I get upto 999 minutes a month! :rotfl:0 -
Was that a hollow threat or were you looking to join tesco mobile? Their deals look good and they piggy back o2 so may be worth swapping.0

I was looking to join Tesco but I was happy to stay for that deal, I get 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb of data for £15. I suspect that if I can get my calls upto 600 or 700 minutes a month, the next time I ring, they will tell me to sling my hook!0 -
Thats the deal I'd like o2 to provide. Their £15 a month contract (12 month contract - how long is yours?) gives just 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb internet. If they could up the minutes to 500 that would do me, or leave it at 300 mins and give free landline calls.0
