Separation Anxiety - barking

I am having the same problem!
Although if it was just between 9am-10am I personally would be pleased with that! It's only 1 hour our of 24 and at a reasonable time, and a dog's got to bark sometimes!
Ok, the bloke works nights and dog barking is annoying and he's asked nicely, fair enough. But what if you were mowing the lawn at that time? Using a strimmer? Doing DIY? He can't expect your life to revolve around him doing nights.
Now advice - I have none, somebody please give me some too!
I've got a bark collar that does a high pitched sound, doesn't really bother my dog, don't know if it would be better for a Collie? I've got a Bulldog.
I've just been looking at the citronella ones but I think he'd just use the spray up straight away.
I've even just looked at a shock collar, is it cruel? Is it actually a 'shock' or more like a TENS machine sort of thing? If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in

hope this will help you, if it does then next time they disturb you, it can be your turn to moan. as they are making noise in ( unsociable hours midnight - 7am ) your dog is not.
good luck
I didn't know you could do this, who do I ring? Just look up local dog warden? Or ring the RSPCA?If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in

OP, l wonder if leaving a radio on, perhaps a talk station i.e. LBC would also help, it may distract your dog from listening out for any odd sound to bark at.
Not to loud of course otherwise neighbour will complain....lol
Do you have a video camera, perhaps set it to record you can get 90 minute tapes so you could at least get an idea of what you dog is doing for that time.0 -
Buy your next door neighbour a pair of ear plugs, i used to use these regularly when i worked nights as i had neighbours who didnt give a monkeys about noise, at the end of the day your dog is barking at a time when he has a valid reason to bark ie kids going past and postman wandering around. There's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.

hi I just rang the local council dog warden, they also do microchips as well, with the chips they do it at your home & are a lot cheaper than the vets. just phone the council and ask for dog warden dept.
hope this helps. p.s. with the chips you usually get 1 months free insurance giving you chance to shop around a bit.Never play with your Bellybutton your Bum could fall off.:rotfl:0 -

Ive got 3 dogs, who can be a bit noisy and my neighbour has mentioned it once or twice. I agree with the curtain suggestion, i also make sure mine have got things to do when im out..... I fill up some kongs with cheese/paste/choc spread, anything in fact, seems to work for us!

Be careful with the chocolate spread - chocolate is poisonous to dogs
Poundstretchers have 'lolly moulds' (the sort you usually use for juice lollies for kids) which make a great mould for Kong stuffing (the medium sized ones)Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Well since I never managed to CURE Zara's separation anxiety....
Started a new job about a motnh ago, dogwalker picks Zara up at 7.30 am before I leave the house and drops her off around 1 pm.
Between 7.30 amd and 1pm Zara has 2 walks and stays at dog walker's house for the rest of the time - chilling out with her 2 dogs.
When the dogwalker drops her off at home, she sees I am not here and goes to sleep till I get back home - chcked with neighbours, no barking at all.
