I know this is nosey of me, but why do you NEED the money so urgently? Can you not negotiate more favourable payment terms with whoever the money is for?
My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

Why do you need the loan so urgently and how much do you need?

WIll you have the ability to pay it back at the end of the month; even with the added expense of Christmas?

There may be other ways that don't involve getting hold of money - let us know what the problem is and then see if we can put our heads together over it.

I wasn't having a go at you - why isn't your urgent health problem covered by the NHS? Again, I'm not having a pop, I'm just trying to understand.

Have you got enough in your budget to keep you going for the rest of the month? Are there any ways you could reduce your outgoings this month? The Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Moneysaving boards may have people that can help reduce costs and maybe find some surplus.

If all your money is spent each month at the moment how will you repay the loan?

    That is a bit harsh!

£80 is the cost of a few fillings, I don't think it would even cover the cost of a temp crown to get her over Christmas.

Certainly wouldn't cover the cost of a pair of bog standard specs.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D
