The storage heaters alone have there own meter and fuse box. Considering that were supposed to get heating and hot water via the immersion this means were getting charged the usual electric price which is 20 odd pence!!!
Should we get onto E.on again?
The thing is though as I've said before they do not seem to know what your talking about half the time and you have to explain to several people the situation. The calls aren't cheap either.
Are you sure you don't have 2 immersions? One low down in your tank which only comes on during the 'cheap' periods, and one higher up which is available (at full price) all the time?
I sympathise with your predicament - I'm on the much more widely available e7, and I had hell of a job finding the actual times of 'cheap' rate (and I worked in the industry for many years). The problem is your supplier doesn't control the hours, your distributer does. Do you have any illuminated switches controlling the storage heaters? You can simply look at when the led lights up and goes off to see when your cheap rate is active (something to do when you can't sleep!)
Also, since the rep has been told not to post prices of e10 tariffs, perhaps you could post yours - the rates should be on your bill. From what I have seen, they are usually a rip off, and you may be better on e7 (if that's possible). My e7 is wired such that all usage is at cheap rates during cheap charging periods. (However 'cheap' isn't the correct word anymore!).0 -

I've just moved into an all electric flat with storage heaters etc on E.ON E10 EnergyPlan 15.
I've just been on the phone to E.on for half an hour trying to find out what the off peak times are with the result that several different people said that it was not possible for them to know what my off peak times are and i'll just have to listen out for when the meter clicks over!! This seems ridiculous but the phone call was beginning to cost a fortune and I was getting nowhere so I gave up. I don't see how they can bill me properly if they don't know what's going on.
I can find no information about economy 10 on the E.on website at all so if anyone can help me with this i'll be very grateful!
i'd like to know the off peak times and what exactly is off peak at each time - everything or just heating and/or hot water?
Thank you very much to anyone who can shed some light on this for me!
Hi neschofield
I'm sorry you've had such a frustrating time on the phone to us.
The exact off peak times for Economy 10 vary depending on the particular metering set up at the property and the region.
If you drop an email to the address in my Profile with your details, I'll be happy to take a look for you (same email address advised by jrb1512).

Hi,
Hoping EON can advise.
I am looking for the off peak times for Livingston, West Lothian in Scotland. Are pleas able to advise ?
Our energy bills have increased exponentially, and this appears to be solely due to the LOW meter (we also have NORMAL meter).
From March 2011 to May 2011 we used 242 LOW units, ie. 121 per month,
but now in March 2012 we have used 16,882 units LOW, ie. more like 1406 units per month. This has given us an extremely high unexpected bill. Why would the offpeak usage shoot up so dramatically ?
I am wondering if the off peak hours have changed since May 2011.
Current price plan is E.ON Fixed Price Saver. In May 2011 it was E.ON EnergyPlan.
Please help.0 -

The hours won't change unless you have a type radio teleswitch meter that is regulated based on temperature/weather reports such as THTC.
Are you really E10? If so do you have 1 or 2 mpans? Or do you have another type of set up that are billed seperately? Its not clear at the moment do I can't say anymore.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
Hi,
Not sure what mpans are :-/ ? We just get one bill from EON. We are electric only - storage heating, with some on demand electric heaters. I don't believe the meter is anything fancy - the property was built in 1950s or 60's and I don't think the meter has been changed but I only bought it in 2009.
Thanks for any advice,0 -
