E on Economy 10 off peak times anyone???

Morning all!

We're on electric only and recently switched to economy 10. The thing is Eon don't seem to know what the times are for economy 10 off peak tarriff. I know it seems odd that a company doesn't even know their own product but we have rang several times and even the supervisor we spoke to was unsure!

We were told the supplier in our area is a company called Energy Northwest which I've googled and it appears to be a company in America. We live in Stockport by the way...

If anyone is on this tarriff could they give me a nod in the right direction?? We've been told two different off peak times so far

02.30 - 07.30

1.30- 4

10-12.30

and

12-5
1-4
8-10

None of these seem to make any sense and as I've said even E on staff don't know what the times are!!

If anyone can shine some light on this I'd be grateful!

Thanks

    Hi Melissa22 Mum,

I'm so sorry you haven't been given the exact information you have asked for.

The times vary by area and it sounds like this is what has caused the confusion.

If you would like me to get the times for you, email me your details to WebForumAdvisors@eonenergy.com and I can do it now.

    Hope I can help.

    Helena :)

  • Hello again Helena, sorry to bother you!

My Fiance has just rang he said he was told that certain tarriffs apply to heating, we have two meters, one which serves the storage heaters and the other meter for the rest of the house.

Do you happen to know if the off peak times apply to separate utilities or is it all electric??

    Thanks again

    Hi Melissa22 Mum,

No problem at all, that's what we are here for!

The RHT meter services the hot water and the heating and the off peak times apply to this.

All other standard usage goes through the normal meter.

    Hope this helps.

  • That's great thanks. Been a lot of frustration and confusion over this!

    Cheers :)
  • I'm in Stockport on E10 and our offpeak times are:
    12midnight - 5am
    1pm - 4pm
    8pm - 10pm

They're set to GMT, so when the clocks change they move by an hour.

    Hi rachie767,

Just to make this clear for other posters that may be reading this thread.

The term Economy 10 is sometimes used to cover various types of restricted hour tariffs, it depends which type of meter the customer has, as to the actual times the off peak rates apply.

  • Ok, so realised yesterday that the immersion is wired up to the regular electric meter fuse box.

The storage heaters alone have there own meter and fuse box. Considering that were supposed to get heating and hot water via the immersion this means were getting charged the usual electric price which is 20 odd pence!!!

Should we get onto E.on again?

The thing is though as I've said before they do not seem to know what your talking about half the time and you have to explain to several people the situation. The calls aren't cheap either.
  • Also.... our storage heaters are on at the moment we were told the times our tarriff is off peak are 11.30-2.30 and 7.30-7.30.

The meter for the storage heaters isn't spinning round. Should we bother ringing Eon. Really getting annoyed with the whole commotion after thinking things were sorted!
