I got my house broken into last night.
3 kitchen windows and backdoor window smashed.
the cooker, microwave, fridge etc ruined!
the house trashed, including the tv, coffee tables, chairs. xbox lcd monitor etc all broke.
the 3 bathroom windows broke. Beds destroyed!
Can i get any payment off the brew to cover any of this damage?
I know the windows will probably be covered under the landlords insurence.
Im dreading going to him tomorrow, as i owe him nearly 1000 in arrears.
What can i apply for? any help would be great cheers

Blimey sorry to hear that.
Sounds more like someone "having it in" for you rather than a burglary. What have the old bill said about it?0 -
Sorry to hear that.
You may get a better answer on the insurance board?

Perhaps it was the landlord - fed up waiting for his money????0

You'll only get a crisis loan if there's a serious risk to your health and safety.
If it's a furnished, rented property then most of the items will be covered by landlords insurance (hopefully). If it was unfurnished you might have grounds for a crisis loan for a bed/bedding, perhaps a fridge for the storage of medicines, maybe a cooker ... but for not much else.
If you receive means tested benefit you can apply for a budgeting loan for additional items. There's also the remote possibility of a Community Care Grant, if your family is under "exceptional pressure", but they're much harder to come by.
The brew ... I hate that word. "He works for the brew" ... always a conversation killer when I was employed by them !I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -
Theres a ten week wait to get a community care grant processed at the minute............0

I live in Northern Ireland, ill leave it at that lol, dont want to say too muich on it.
Im on job seekers just. and already owe them a good bit from a previous budgeting loan!
Yeah the house was furnished when i moved in.
But the bed was mine. will his insurence cover my items aswell? or just his own? because i dont have any insurence.
Even if its all covered on his? i cant really live without a fridge, cooker etc?
will they give me money for a cooker, microwave etc? i doubt they will give me anything for a tv xbox etc thats classed as entertainment.
Whats my best course of action tomorrow then?0 -

Glad it's not just me then, I had to google it. Tis a slang term, from Scotland, for being unemployed.
Didn't say the origins of the term thoughBe happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -
