Hi LookingAhead and bobble_hat...:D
Deepak Chopra highly recommends the book.
The back says it shows us how to feel calmer, more in control and excited about life. (and I don't want to go to Tesco)x

Hi all,
Thanks for looking in on me. I had a bad spends today. I had a dirty burger king on the way homeAnd bought chocolate, crips and stuff from Boots. Very naughty. I ran 4.2 miles with the club tonight and really struggled because of the dirty burger King. I learnt my lesson so won't be doing that again.
Spends:- 2 cadburys cream eggs - £0.70
- Smints - £0.99
- Parsnip crips - £0.59
- Tissues - £0.45
- Shapers mint choc bar - £0.43
- Dirty Burger King dinner - £7.93
Dizzie lizzie, that book sounds great, I love all that anti-materialistic stuff. I sold my flat and tons of my belongings last year, and I felt a great sense of freedom and release. I'm trying to live a lot more simply now and it does feel much better. I hope Tescos is not too yuck, I've just run around ours. :rotfl:
So what have I achieved today:- I did take a packed lunch to work
- I did go for a run with the club
- Although I spent I have not gone over budget

Hi bobble_hat
Tesco wasn't too grim, and easier with my list. Asked for one of the freebie sample bags they keep at the pharmacy and got given three! Contents I've posted in my diary, really good this time. Forgot to say the book I'm reading was from Aldi at the weekend. Hubby lost receipt but I don't think it was more than £1.99, a lot cheaper than original price. Don't be too hard on yourself with the burger. Think how much you'll be saving now when you remember it and resist!! It's been a lovely weekend. I went shopping on Thursday evening in preparation of my friend visiting for the weekend. I spent £32.92 on groceries, including treats, munchies and alcohol. This also included all of this weeks groceries.
We had a great night out on Friday and I only spent £14! Which was brilliant considering the fact we were out until 3am!
Saturday another friend bought us lunch after we'd been shopping, I did buy some treats but used some Gift vouchers so had a No spend day on Saturday.
I cooked on Saturday evening, included extra baked potatoes whilst the oven was on (I've frozen these to have during the week). We vegged out to a good film in the evening.
I've spent nothing today either. I'm hoping to have a low spend week, but have got a celebration on Wednesday, it is the last day with my current employer, I'm outsourcing to big blue on Thursday and am very excited.
My budget for the week is £30."Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it." (Montgomery, L.M.(1908). Anne of Green Gables.)
