    good on you!

Hope you're getting a good third meal in there with the DAJS.

Good news on the spending tho. Only works out as 21p spent per day, for the past 3 days, sorry, u can tell im armed with a calculator today :)

  • Doh!

Went for a drink after work last night, full of good intentions. But ended up paving the road to hell with them! Started off well with lime and soda for 50p. Got halfway through the second and decided I needed a real drink.

Ended up spending about £30, know I definitely spend £26.08 but I owe my housemate money for food and the taxi. So totally ruined diet and budget.

Also revealed things that should have been kept to myself, although relieved in one aspect, because I'm no longer keeping secrets from my new housemate (and now good friend), which didn't sit well with me. I may have made things awkward with my landlord. B****y alcohol! If I can't control myself I shouldn't even enter a pub.

So, to make amends, I'm back on track with the diet today. I will take the amount that I spent over my allowance and remove it from the next 3 weeks money. I will do all my ironing, clean my room and do some website work. I need to go grocery shopping, but that can wait until tomorrow.

    :o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o

  • Oh dear! Alcohol can be evil at times, mouth runs away before brain engages! I am very guilty of that, trouble is I can't always remember what I have said.

But you are doing well. xx

Hi b_h. Just read your diary from the start...it's very intriguing!

Obviously I am curious as to know what these things are that the alcohol prised out of you but of course, that's none of my business....I'm just a sucker for (what I think is) romantic gossip! :D

Anyway, you sound totally committed to exercise, I mean salsa (which I want to start again by the way, may have to ask which club you use as I know we are in the same town), running, aerobics, walking...wow. You'll be in that new jeans size before you know it!

    How's the new laptop going?
Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Cheers, it is romantic gossip, isn't it always. I've got the hots for my landlord and I hinted at it very stronly last night to him :o, and my other housemate cottoned on so I came clean to her, and was very relieved to do so, I hate feeling like I'm keeping things from my friends. Needless to say I woke up feeling very embarrased today.

Not if I carry on drinking on Friday nights! I've stopped going to salsa as it on the same nights as my running club and I'll get fitter with the running more quickly. It's on at Edwards on a Monday night, they have a web site http://www.everybodysalsa.com/initiate.php

Am loving the new laptop, means I can get online at home plus am doing website work in my spare time too. :j

  • Hi there. Aha, the everybody salsa group huh? I know Alan, sort of, from an old Salsa club years ago. I may be going back some time in the next month or so, maybe one day if you come back & I am still there we will meet.

Yes you are right it is always romantic gossip and hey, we all say things when booze is involved and wake up the next day thinking "Ohhhhhh GOD what did I say...?" (Or do...in my case! :o )

Glad the laptop is going well. :T

  • Just been taken out for lunch, well I drove but housemate paid, we ate far too much and I can't move now and still have to sort my room out!

I did buy a round of drinks which included my alcohol-free beverage, and it came to £7.80 for 3 people!

So I've decided to do the store cupboard challenge this week, I have plenty of fruit left from last week and plenty of rice, pasta etc. to use. Ooh plus frozen veg. Have plenty of cereal to continue the DAJS challenge, so should only need to buy milk. Obviously haven't stuck very well to the cereal challenge this weekend, so need to make more of an effort this week.

For this week then I will do:
    1. Tondella's Fly-lady way challenge.
    2. Moozie's Sun-Fri challenge.
    3. Drop A Jeans Size second and final week.
    4. Store Cupboard challenge.
At the end of January I need to:
    1. If wages go into correct account - Set up standing orders - If not move the money around myself.
    2. Pay first large chunk off student loan.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Let us know what you manage to concoct from the store cupboard each day!

  • Well I ate far too much and spent far too much today, but I enjoyed every mouthful. :o

I had a sausage sandwich at morning break (I'd had cereal before leaving the house, so it's not as if I needed more breakfast!) and I'm trying to be vegetarian! A Brie, Cranberry and lettuce baguette for lunch (there's today's veg and fruit!) and a latte and I'm mostly caffeine free. I spent £3.94 on that little lot.

It's store cupboard dinner tonight, Pasta with green pesto and shavings of parmesan and lots of black pepper. Yummy.

I'm running tonight so I'm not going to beat myself up too much about the over-eating thing (I need the carbs :o). I'm swimming Wednesday too.

I'm on a training course for the next two days, lunch is provided and I don't have to travel for it, so I'll be having cereal for breakfast and dinner Tuesday and Wednesday. Should be NSDs. :T

Thursday is Chick pea curry served on red lentils.
Friday will be chicken flavoured noodles with lots of mixed veg.
Saturday may be pasta with a spicy tomato sauce and possible veg.
Sunday may be a vegetable risotto.

Have plenty of fresh fruit to see of the cravings for sweet stuff too.

Actually looking at that little lot, the rest of the week should be a no spender. I may need to top up on milk but that's about all.

Counted out my 5ps last night and have bagged up £5, think I will put it into the Australia fund so it looks like I'm getting somewhere with it.

  • Woohoo! Not only did I get a free lunch and have a No Spend Day today, but I got a hot and healthy free lunch.

I had a yummy jacket potato with hummous and a side salad, followed by an apple. I have had two biscuits as these were free too. :o

I had pasta for dinner last night, and was nearly all the way through when I realised I should have had cereal, Doh!

So cereal for dinner tonight. Although I've not been exactly strict with the Drop a Jeans Size challenge, my trousers felt a little looser today. I'm weighing myself tomorrow, so I'll soon see if I've lost anything.

I need to do a healthy, cheap meal plan for next week so I don't slip straight back into old habits once this challenge is over.
