Good Morning All
Tru & Lou-lou, hope you both start feeling better soon, JackieO - glad you are on the mend.
Know what you mean about getting out JackieO, I popped into out little town yesterday and it was lovely.
Snow is still disappearing, :j can see some green in the fields now.
Today we are putting up our Xmas tree at last. Will deep clean the front room when I get dressed (well it is Sunday:rotfl:). Actually have turkey for dinner today as when I popped in to M&S yesterday it was on special. Its one of their ready to roast with sausagemeat stuffing. Hopefully we will be feeling very festive by the end of the day.
Will spend a little while in the officemainly so I can start the week well and actually get a little organised.
Off now for a surf while I finish my coffee.x0 -
Morning all, hugs to all those who need one, sorry to hear that so many people are feeling sore and bruised his morning. Take it easy.
A cold and frosty morning in West Yorkshire, still covered in snow although we did have a slight thaw yesterday. DH home from nightshift and reports very icy roads, so take care if you have to go out.
DS3 very excited this morning - mummy very cross - Christmas Elf has eaten mummys chocolate during the night.;)
DW on and just got braising steak and onions in SC for tea with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrot and swede mash.
Will pop on later to catch up.
See ya

Morning all
still chilly here this morning! I'm still in my nightie with comfy joggers and a wooly cardy - might look a sight but I'm warm! Had a leisurely 9am start today thanks to the kids playing the Wii fairly quitely in their room which was nice.
I expect DH to be sleeping most of the day as he didnt get in til near 4am and he's working again tonight. Littlies and me have had breakfast, DW is on (few things that wouldnt fit last night) WM is on and the uniforms are washed and away.
I was having a good nosey around M&S food halls yesterday and they have some erally good bargains - especially on the christmas goods - chocolate biscuit boxes are half price at £2.74 some others are 2 for £6 chocolates are half price and so are the belgian biscuits in a tin. I think Marksies stuff makes for a better gift sometimes. Also their cocktail sausages and fresh stuffings are 3 for £5.00 so we're having them today with a butter basted chicken joint, carrots, sweetcorn, mash & yorkies. Hoping for left overs to make sandwiches for pack ups tomorrow. I'm going to get it prepped early as home alone and home alone 2 are on sky movies this afternoon - it will then officially be christmas :j
Need to meal plan and get a list done of what I need to get, I have my shopping delivery booked for the 23rd but with the cancellations and such due to the weather it made me think maybe i should get the essentials in before then 'just in case'.
So 1. more coffee 2. prep dinner 3. bake twinks or cakes if there's time for packups 4. get festive

Morning all! I'm loving this warmer weather, haven't even got the heater on right now :j
The work meal was great last night, noone got too drunk or crazy, noone put their dessert in someone else's face (ahem this actually happened last year! in a nice restaurant!) and it was good fun. The amount of milk hidden in the foods meant i was eating roast beef with chips!!
Today i've got loooaaaads of work to do, need to finish off an assignment which will take a few hours, write the intro and wordy bits for a group modelling report and revise for my postponed(thank you snow!!) exam.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Morning All
Sorry so many of you are feeling poorly, get well soon. Those of you feeling down - at least you know you are feeling that way but it will take time to feel better.
Still lots of frozen snow about here, braved everything yesterday and went to Glasgow for some christmas shopping. Got there just after 9 and it was ok. Met some friends for a coffee and left about half 12. Called at Ikea on the way home to get some more wrapping paper, then on to Clydebank (yuk) for a visit to Home Bargains. Needed to get baking stuff for secret santa as the person I have has just started baking, got most of it between HB and Wilkies so feel quite pleased with myself! I have to say that although it was busy everywhere folk were in a good mood and we had a chat and laugh in the queues, etc.
Have cleaned my bedroom and changed the bed, fed the hens (they are NOT enjoying this weather) and brought logs in to dry off by the fire for later in the week. Just had breakfast and am going to wrap up the pressies. Will have to watch Elf soon as that starts christmas for me.
Hope you all have a good day, stay safe and warm. XX0 -
Morning all,
Did not get up till 10, which is really unusual for us, mind you we did stay up late watching a film.
Will ring dd in a while and check they are ok, rang them about midnight and all was well, fingers crossed thay will have had some sleep.
Bedding is in the wm, think I might hang it out today, as the sun is shining a bit, need to tidy through lounge and kitchen. Dinner today is pork chops, roasties, brussels and brocoli.
OH and I will have a quick bit of breakfast then head over to the afternoon boot sale for an hour or so.
Hope all the poorly and p**d off feel better soon, have good days all xx

Still not sleeping right  Need to sort this out tonight as I'm back in work tomorrow!
It was so foggy here last night, I couldn't see anthing outside my flat last night. There's still a bit lingering now, and the dock is frozen. I am hoping to go out for a walk later if I have the time.
Plans for today include writing a small uni assignment, tidying, hoovering, pop to Home Bargains for a few bits. I also want to make some carrot and coriander soup. DW is on now too.
My flat is boiling! I think I'll turn off the 2nd heater as it's too hot and I won't need so much heat in day when I'm in work.
Have a great day all

have just got back from taking DS2 into work - roads very icy, felt the car slip a few times:eek:
plans for today are to get all the outstanding jobs done before we pick up DS2, his girlfriend's coming over later(picking her up too) and she's topping tonight and having tea here.
Washing in machine ready to put on airers. Fire cleaned out ready - had our first lovely fire last night.
Lunch is HM veggie soup, tea is pork steaks for the meat eaters and a butternut squash/nut type of roast thingy for me.
Shall finish cleaning the house and got a couple of things to finish wrapping.
Halight - I expect the twins will love the decorations later:)
Christmas isn't quite the same now my boys are grown up so I envy those with little ones at Christmas time - cant wait to become a granny:D
esmf - (((hugs)))

Morning all
Was up about 9, but stayed in bed drinking tea, listening to Radio 4 and reading my book.
Have just been out with the dog for an hour; snowy fields still and lots of ice! We also got chased by ponies through the first field, so had to extend the walk :rotfl:
Today I'm hoping to revise my Christmas present list - I made one earlier in the year, but have changed my mind about the things I want to make for people; most of them are made, but I still need to make pickled onions, vinegar and mustard.
Apart from that, I'll probably read some more of my book as I'm hooked and NEED to know what happens next, and I'll try and finish my cross stitch. If I'm feeling particularly energetic and clever, I might start my patchwork (sewing has never been a strength).
Hope everyone has a warm and safe day, and hugs to those that need them.

Morning all, just.
We've been up since 7 but I've only just prised hubby off the pc, he's had a tax rebate & has ordered a Kindle as he's finding it harder & harder to read. He's spent hours on the pc reading up about them & trying to make a decision on which one to buy.
We're out tonight for his Christmas do so no roast dinner to cook, I'm dressing for warmth, trousers & a long sleeved velvet top, no heels & no spagetti straps for me.
I've finally finished knitting scarves, what a relief, yesterday I made 2 mini quilts & today I'm making Christmas decorations.
Keep warm & safe everyone.
Hugs Hester
