Do you honestly believe that agencies are the only way of recruiting? I was clearly giving you more credit than you deserved.
Perhaps you are the one who has "no clue" (your description of myself and others posting on here).
I just go by the facts.
1: You have been employed 2 minutes
2: You already are making decisions that can be to the detriment of your new employerThe agent at Hays who tried to do that to me has now shot himself in the foot as I am responsible in my new role for any initial recruitment drives so, if it turns out that we have to use an agency (which I will avoid at all costs) then I will not be using that one!
3: I am now figuring the consultant was right not to waste their time on you & the more you go on the more evidence you supply that that was indeed the case. Not Again0 -

Now we are on to complete ignorance.
So tell me. Why did you get the sack in your last role? :rotfl:Not Again0 -

That is the biggest load of rubbish I've read in a long while.
The majority of employers choose to use 2 or 3 agencies only.
And it gets worse... Employers often ask the opinions of their employees about which agencies to use. Those opinions are, naturally, based on the experiences employees have had while job hunting.
Hadn't you realised that?My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Can you actually counter, or even adequately defend, any of the recruitment agency underhand activities reported in this thread?
Or do you see sarcasm as your only defence? My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

& seriously there is no need to tell me what employers do or not do with agencies. You would embarrass yourself.
I'll take that to mean sarcasm IS your only defence. My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Or do you see sarcasm as your only defence?
Can you counter the bad attitude of a candiate, a poor work history, an overblown ego, false information on a CV, bad references & unsuitable skills?
Or maybe it is simply there is always someone better to fill the role.
I have answered every single blanket statement I see fit.
What you have done is argue for the sake of it about something you know very little about.
There are only three reasons why the OP didn't get worked on & one of them is down to the OP.
Now you may read what you like into what the OP says & put it all down to the consultant.
Unfortunately for you I am a whole lot more experienced than you & would reserve that judgement for a later time rather than go from a few clouded, one-sided & misguided comments of a poster who clearly does not understand (or want to understand) the type of business they were engaged with. Not Again0 -

I look forward to seeing more posts on Hays' complete corporate failures in the morning.
All of course based on an extensive & intensive few minutes of experience........................Not Again0 -
Wow!
1984ReturnsForReal, do you work for Hays?
The main point of this thread was expertly summarised by LilyDeTillyAgain, I reiterate the main point of this thread, which is to advise candidates not to pass on any information about their other job applications, interviews or job offers to recruitment consultants as they use this information purely for their own gain - even if it means back-stabbing the candidate.
Are you saying that her summary is factually inaccurate?
In addition I refer you to an as yet unanswered question I asked a recruitment agent earlier in this discussionIf you can honestly say that you have never been economical with the truth to a candidate, then you have my utmost respect.
Can you?
Perhaps you would like to answer my question?
Jimavfc82's post 46 was an interesting and informative contribution to this discussion from the recruitment agent's perspective. What a shame that more of you have been unable to respond in a similar manner.
You looked forward to seeing more posts on Hays' corporate failures; I despair of seeing more dazzling displays of arrogance and vitriol instead of considered debate. My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
