Is that all you can come up with? Again, you have not read a post properly. I said I did not care for anyone's PERSONAL opinion of me when they did not even know me.0 -

So why do you feel the need to keep posting?0 -
To summarise this thread, it seems that the majority of insults and personal attacks have come from the people who state that they work in recruitment. Granted, there are some posts that are just angry rants (with or without substance) but as this is a common feature throughout lots of threads, I guess some things are best ignored. I started this thread to highlight an issue that I have experienced and to warn other candidates using job agencies which is do not give any information to recruitment agencies regarding your job applications/offers that are not through that agency as they will use this for their own marketing purposes and will not hesitate to contact that company, even it means stabbing you in the back.
By stating this, it does not 'slam' the role or purpose of job agencies, not does it personally attack any recruitment consultants. It is a fact that I (and others it seems) have experienced. Not one Recruitment Consultant has posted on this thread to deny that this would happen or to deny they have ever done that. In fact, the 'defence' of a lot of RCs on here seems to be to attack any person who dares to say a bad thing about recruitment agencies.0 -
No matter how people word it, Agency's are crap, If you want to use them then fine but I personally don't yet I am forced too due to them taking all the jobs, The future for everyone's in this country is bleak if you work in logistics, The work I do is FLT and every single job now is taken by recruitment agency's and they are taking people on and using them for a few month then dumping them, Some people might like that freedom but I want a future for myself and for people who do the same kind of jobs. I am looking to move from living with a family member and get my own place but how can I do that if I am not sure if I'll be working from one month to the next?0

What advice?
Oooooooooooooh your extremely poor advice.
Very poor show for MSE.
But like I said before, its a rubbish thread through & through.
& yes, your behavour & the OPs behaviour has been awful & just because you get a little back you throw the dummies out the prams.
You seem to completely, and quite conveniently, overlook the fact that so many have responded to this thread, and so far (correct me if I'm wrong) you are the only one to resort to personal attacks, very unprofessional.
I am no sheep following any particular bandwagon, and as an employer, I have found this thread to be quite informative, and has confirmed and highlighted my own personal experience of agency consultants, and if as you say, you find this thread to be 'rubbish' then don't read it.0 -
I don't want to restrict my dislike of agencies just to Hays as I find they all have the morals of double glazing salesmen. Make no bones about it, agency "consultants" are salespeople in all but name.
They're not there to help people find work, they are there to register as many people as possible to their books and then "re-sell" them onto an employer.
Walk past an agency on the high street and you'll see the windows covered with job advert cards. Actually enquire about a small proportion of those advertised jobs and you'll be told the job has been taken. Agencies advertise jobs that do not exist OR that existed for a very short time frame in order to pull punters in off the street. No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

This is what happened to me, Found a job in my local jobcentre and it was through a agency, Called them up and was told to come in and sign up. I did this and give all my details including bank details and then I asked where this job was and when do I start. I was then told that the actual vacancy didn't exist and that it was advertised to get people on the books who would have the qualifications needed for when a vacancy like it became available. I didn't last long as all they was giving me was jobs for about 4 hours a day 2 -3 days a week,0 -

Well said. Everytime I tried to get a reasonable response to the initial point I was making, he/she conveniently avoided that subject and continued to make further rude remarks. Then repeatedly moaned about the thread but kept coming back to read it and respond further!0 -
I really hate it when people fall for these, and it seems to be getting worse now. I was looking in the local paper today and 1/3 of the 'jobs' section was filled up with 'training with the potential to get a job' ads. Plumbing, IT support and games designing. Yeah, give them your money and you might be able to get a job elsewhere
I think the OP was referring to giving bank details in order for the agency to pay him/her. They all ask for these details when you register for temp work, even if there is no actual job lined up as yet.
But you are correct about the whole 'job' ads that are actually for training.0
