Many thanks for that. Just tried it without a simcard, and it came up with an error message. Do I need an Orange (or other network) sim in it to unlock it? Apologies if this problem has been covered before.

Hello, can a Motorola v3 be unlocked with a code its on virgin, its my wifes mobile and has been stuck on 'no service' since wednesday???

Right, have you tried another network in the phone, it may be unlocked already.
